Whatever happened to the dungarees and tees?.....

Yes, the patch pocket dungaree trousers, with a pressed dungaree shirt and clean white hat, with shined shoes was a GOOD LOOKING work uniform, easy to store and durable.

When the patch pocket dungarees became scarce they came out with the slash pocket and they looked ‘terrible’. We referred to them as ‘Wave Trousers’ and wore the old style till they ‘forced’ us out of them....

Believe that was called chambrey - at least the shirts?

Chambray shirts and denim pants. Some people call chambray denim, too. Easy to care for, all cotton, though linen is better but more expensive.......

Dungaree uniforms, in their very best condition, were ugly and depressing. In my exit interview, I let them know that looking like a convict was not acceptable. Obviously, a lot of others agreed.
