Yep, yep, yep...
I wonder if Rush will be in today?
All the other hosts I listen to during the day have gone on holiday (so far).
Getting an early start for tomorrow’s end of the world?
Thanks!,p>
Lotsa nasty weather out today. Stay safe everyone!!!
Driving to work in my roller skate was an adventure in heavy winds.
I’m here, thanks for the ping.
bttt
The Republicans are voting Plan “B” later today. Hey wait a minute, I thought Plan “B” was a morning after pill.
why are rush streaming links shutting off? Can’t get the show on WLS now.
Hi fellow Rush fans, I just posted the following on FB. I thought you might enjoy it...
I did some digging last night and found a few things. The FBI estimates that about 100 million US households have legal firearms and they also tracked about 350 deaths where a rifle was used. Semi-automatic rifles are some subset of that 350 number, but it is not explicitly tracked separately from bolt actions, pump actions or single shot rifles. So, the rate of preventable deaths from semi-automatic rifles that are not needed is no more than 0.00035%.
Then I went to the CDC stats and found that they estimate that about 8-10 million US households have swimming pools and they tracked about 3,500 drowning deaths, but they do not track specifically the subset of drownings that occurred in bath tubs, lakes, streams or swimming pools. So, the rate of preventable deaths from swimming pools that are not needed is no more than 0.035%. Our governments own numbers are showing us that swimming pools are 1,000 times more dangerous than semi-automatic rifles!
If we are willing to accept the premise that the federal government should infringe on our liberty to address unnecessary deaths, then we would see much more value in banning swimming pools! In addition, we would cause harm to much fewer individuals and we dont even have to deal with a Constitutional issue. Heck, we all know that swimming pools are a luxury that no family needs!
We should only allow people to swim in government owned pools.
Or we could simply live with the consequences of individual liberty and understand that we can address evil doers whenever possible, but we will never be able to stop all evil.
Great information, but please don’t give Big Brother any more ideas.
Good one. I actually was addressing a lady that said, “hearts are broken every day, it is about time to do something” and “no one needs a semi-automatic rifle to hunt.” Yet, she is the proud owner of an inground pool that they just love....
Her hubby is on our side, so I am sure he will enjoy it!
Just got an email from Auburn Athletics.

Looks good. Thanks.
Interesting article on Fox Sports online regarding steroid use in college football. Guess what currently number one and number two ranked teams have very lax penalties for failing s steroid test???
Bama and Notre Dame?
the phrase “no taxation without representation” comes to mind. Oh, wait, the no-information voters wouldn’t know that.
Wow, you win!!!!
I pinned on an "I like Ike" button in 1952 and ever since then I followed politics. I do not today have TV but I am still an avid radio listener.
I know only one (self-defined) "nonpartisan" show and know it influences apolitical citizens (some vote).
For twelve years frequent guests roundly condemned Bush (all of them) and Nixon; though conservative guests do get in digs at Obama I recall three shows in four years dedicated to criticizing of, but only one roundly condemning, Obama (for signing the 2011 NDAA).
That one show did not alone make the difference in Election 2012.. but it continues, examples:
I am sure lots of "nonpartisan" radio and TV shows are like that show. The New Normal depend upon their influence over the apolitical citizens ends.
FFL staff is working 13-15hr days, and product is 70-80% gone from massive facility. They've pulled-out of all gun shows for next 30 days, since their store is overloaded with retail business. There are 4 loaded trucks backed-up outside at the loading docks, but no staff to unload and check-thru to inventory.
The owner, my long-time friend and former customer, offered me big bucks to come down to unload, price, SKU, tag, log-in and display inventory to store's computers. They're closing early tonite after 5 15hr days.
It's a madhouse in the 4 firearm stores I talked to this morning. Many aren't even answering phones; just taking care of massive walk-in customer surge. No product in stores and pipeline's almost empty. All 4 have pulled-out of shows.
I've never seen it like this. http://www.bushmaster.com/firearms/pistols.asp
Boehner should be asked to show where is the evidence that increasing taxes on millionaires increases revenues to the treasury? before he makes legislative deals that don’t make sense, economically speaking.
Ill say this the app hardly uses any battery and the phone stays cooler too.
This **** is scary.
We could all come out smelling like a rose or we could lose it all.
I am a collector.
Nothin fancy, just military stuff.
I like the historical aspect.
What did you get for the pistol? If you don’t mind.
The leverage is macroeconomics, force Democrats to deal with the facts.
Holy Crap! I may blow off the gun show next weekend.
What app did you get?
$1300; paid $799 in ‘06. M6 Laser/Flashlight ($400) 4 new 30-rnd mags ($120) & Blackhawk carrying bag ($100) took package up to $1920. (Next week it’d be worth $1800, but I have several each Class III AR-10s & AR-15s which I’m keeping, along with other choice pieces. Just lightening-up the gunsafe’s “load”.)
I just went to my local gun store (southern Cali), yesterday to pick up my Sig 522. I witnessed the exact same thing that you described. The owner was in shock with all of the phone calls, a line out the door and no more AR-15 rifles in inventory. Many other firearms had sold out as well. The place was an absolute zoo...
“I am a collector.”
That’s what it says on all my Class III Tax Stamp paperwork, too. Heh.
I hear ya brother.
I am thinking of culling some things too.
AR is the frenzy du jur.
I PRAY to GOD that the repubbies just ABSTAIN, VOTE PRESENT...get the hell out of the way and let Obama do whatever he wants....they are just making it worse with these deals...
The racks are empty of rifles.
I saw lots of pistols though.
Well that was 2 days ago.
Looks like S&W, Ruger, Olin(Winchester) are rebounding.
Look for the Freedom Group to be made a public offering now that Cerebus is dumping them.
I’m debating whether I’m going to drive-out early Sat morning, or blow it off, too. There’ll be some hardware there, but most’ll be gone long before the show starts. I couldn’t believe how empty the store was today. He usually has 500-700 rifles and 1,000+ handguns on display; hardly anything left, except in the 4 waiting trucks in docked lockdown.
I’m going in at 5:30pm to unload etc, but I’ll log-in on the TGO thread from the store’s dock office computer. I love the smell of new, ‘virgin hardware’ coming out of the box. I can’t pass-up $75/hr for 8-10hrs work.
Spending IS the problem.
I have little faith in the current house or the American people at this point.
its iHeart radio for android
If it does, I’m gonna have to buy into a nice chunk of that.
SWHC IS DIRT CHEAP.
I have to wonder of all these people purchasing firearms how many can actually shoot them (and hit their target). Oh well, happiness is still a warm gun!
Next 2-4 weeks are going to get even worse. I was up at 5:30am, scanning 10-12 websites for 5.56/.223 ammo, just to get a handle on it all, and 95% of it was “out of stock”. Some .223 avails, but only 55-60gr stuff. Not quite as bad for .308/7.62x51 ammo, but getting lower avails by the hour. FFLs tell me pipeline is empty, so mfgrs are ramping-up quickly before ban hits. Fortunately, I’ve been buying carefully and steadily since ‘02, so I’m mucho A-OK.
