Despite rumblings from some Republican backbenchers, Speaker John A. Boehner’s hold on the House’s top post appears secure after key conservative lawmakers said they don’t expect anyone to challenge him.
Several congressman who were booted from their committees last week have refused to commit to voting for Mr. Boehner when the House elects its speaker next year. But the discontent has not spread widely among their GOP colleagues, who generally give the Ohio Republican good marks for playing a difficult hand in the current budget negotiations.

The four lawmakers who were booted from their committees remain angry, and they have gotten support from some conservative groups who say the purge shows why Mr. Boehner should go.
“If Speaker Boehner wants to come back to my district, he’s not going to be met with very much welcome,” said Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan, who lost his seat on the House Budget Committee. “You know, I spent a lot of time saying the stuff about, ‘Speaker Boehner’s doing the best job he can do.’ I did that, you know, for a year, year and a half. We’re not doing the best job we can do. I’ve been here for almost two years — it’s not acceptable to anyone.”

2) In January taxes go up
3) Obama gets on TV and Townhalls telling middle class voters that their taxes are going up because Republicans once again are putting ‘the rich’ ahead of them.
4) MSM hounds Republicans asking them if they are happy they ‘raised taxes’ on the middle class
5) House Republicans get flooded in a tidal wave of angry emails and phone calls from those who voted for them.
They try to go home for a visit and there are angly mobs around their house with signs
“I am sorry I voted for you. You raised my taxes you lying #%%$$”, many are white and 50 + obviously not ACORN.
6) The stock Market tanks
7) House Republicans even the most ‘conservative’ go to Bohner and say “WE made a big mistake. We need to cut those taxes (under$250K income) and put this behind us. My voters want to kill me” just as they did with last years FICA.
8) The House quietly passes the extension in secret just as they did FICA last February.
9) Obama signs it declaring that the Rs finally saw reason
10) The stock market recovers some just because the panic is over sand no one knows that the resulting Obama tax increases hurt the stock market because they think house Rs crashed it and O saved it.
11) Obama gets credit for saving the economy. AGAIN.
12) House Republicans dont challenge O again for the next two years. So the Republican party melts down in civil war. Dems bayonet the R wounded.
13) In 2014 election Reid and Pelosi get back the same numbers they got in 2009.
14) January 2015 Congress passes a bill making Obama King. (no more filibuster to stop it)

And I am telling u now. There will be a deal Bonehead cuts that will gain
the support of enough Rat votes in the House and Senate, thus bypassing
those pesky conservatives. And what u want will happen.

Am I the only one that thinks that “plan b” was a good political (not good policy) move that Boehner was trying to make? It was never going to become law. We are going over the fiscal cliff. Obama is dead set on it, and now he will be able to blame us for the higher tax rates.
Plan b was about calling Obama’s bluff on wanting a “balanced” solution. By offering him 90% of what he claims he wants, only to have him reject the offer, we might have been able to finally gain the upper hand. Every Democrat up for election in 2 years would have to explain why they wouldn’t vote for what was originally Nancy Pelosi’s plan to retain some of the lower tax rates. Now we’re the ones holding out to get 100% of what we want. Now we’re the obstrutionists. We’re the reason everyone’s taxes will go up.
After decades of capitulation on issue after issue. Is this really where we want to make a stand?
That is going to be difficult because you just won a HUGE victory tonight that spells disaster for this nation.
This will lead, as I have posted many times, to Republicans signing terms of surrender that in comparison will prove plan B to what would of been a huge victory.

Yet I see no point in helping Dems completely destroying their only opposition Rs so they can rule unchallenged. Some of these folks seem to want to be under Dem total rule because they LOVE living like a cult.

us here could. Once again there will be a fiscal cliff deal. Bonehead will
rely on democrats to pass it. Taxes will go up on the rich, just as u want.
The only difference is Bonehead will get the votes of Rats, instead of

Don’t blame me if Bonehead and Cantor can’t count votes before they
commit to bringing up a bill for a vote.
Bonehead and Cantor should have discussed this with the members
