This was before this Plan B debacle Bonehead and Cantor tried to force
on GOP members. All bets are off now.

The GOP Establishment has brought the upcoming electoral disaster upon themselves. It is going to be a Tsunami.

The GOP will lose its House majority and Democrats will get a near-filibuster proof Senate majority in 2016.

What’s more - the majority of Americans will blame the GOP (and Bush) for the country’s economic problems.

And, it gets better - President Clinton in 2016!

Now is the time to SMASH the GOP, send it to the ash heap, and build a genuine, grass-roots, CONSERVATIVE party.

IMHO, Boner was easily bought. Giving America away, from behind closed doors, is not conservative American politics.

His actions speak the truth.

good marks for playing a difficult hand in the current budget negotiations...

Complete utter hogwash. He gave away the store in the opening round, proceded to negotiate feverishly with HIMSELF, then the committee assignment krap. The fact is he puppets the ∅bama class warfare rhetoric, can't articulate individual property rights and personal freedom, and generally is NOT a good speaker to begin with. Oh yeah, he also has no charisma nor imagination as to battling the 'rats... just making deals to get along.

CAN him!

Once Boehner opened the door to raising taxes on anybody, he should have been forced to turn in his GOP card and his man card.

To: jimbo123; what's up; Arthurio; dan on the right

After this fiasco NO ONE, NO ONE will go near his job.

He just proposed a bill that would keep our taxes from going up that was defeated by the absolutely false claim that it was increasing taxes.

Now our taxes go up after this so called *tax increase* bill was defeated???

NO_ONE will take that job after this. When voters taxes go up in a few weeks there will be mobs with ropes and torches after the House Republicans. (because the bill they defeated was really not a tax increase bill but stopped them )

I always said Bohner was lame but no one could win with these demands.

The “GOP elite” is exactly the problem.

These “A List” quasi-Republicans — the heart of the Stupid Party — has done themselves in. Time for them to go.

We need a CONSERVATIVE party. The GOP is done.

And if the new party puts in a decent showing in the mid-terms, then they won’t be called a “third” party when (and if) 2016 rolls around.

"The House of Representatives elects the speaker of the house on the first day of every new Congress. Each party nominates a candidate. There is usually some degree of consensus within each party's leadership as to who the favored candidate will be. Whoever receives a simple majority of the votes is elected."

Could be interesting -- but I don't see too many Republicans voting for Pelosi as Speaker. If the choice is between Crybaby and Pelosi, even the conservatives will vote for him.

Am I the only one that thinks that “plan b” was a good political (not good policy) move that Boehner was trying to make? It was never going to become law. We are going over the fiscal cliff. Obama is dead set on it, and now he will be able to blame us for the higher tax rates.

Plan b was about calling Obama’s bluff on wanting a “balanced” solution. By offering him 90% of what he claims he wants, only to have him reject the offer, we might have been able to finally gain the upper hand. Every Democrat up for election in 2 years would have to explain why they wouldn’t vote for what was originally Nancy Pelosi’s plan to retain some of the lower tax rates. Now we’re the ones holding out to get 100% of what we want. Now we’re the obstrutionists. We’re the reason everyone’s taxes will go up.

After decades of capitulation on issue after issue. Is this really where we want to make a stand?
