Amid talk of reinstating the assault weapons ban that expired eight years ago, police departments nationwide are thinking of ways to confiscate such weapons.

As WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond reported, among the departments considering taking action is the NYPD. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said if Congress were to reinstate the ban, police are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them.

Let's not forget to take a look at gun confiscation.

Feel better?

“what will it take to penetrate one of those vehicles?”

A two watt laser diode from eBay. Guaranteed to permanently blind you in about 1/100th of a second...

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=infared+laser+diode&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=ir+laser+diode&_sacat=0

Any color will do, but IR would be the best since it can’t be seen and they wouldn’t know where it was coming from.

I can't believe you suggested that anyone in this community cooperate with the jackboot gun grabbers.

'Cooperate' is such an ugly word. I prefer 'deceive.' I get the feeling you don't know anything about setting traps. Are you a city boy?

He was not talking about cooperating with the Feds. He was saying he would pretend to be cooperative while in fact keeping his good guns.

Nothing wrong at all in being sneaky rather than foolishly giving up your life.

“I don’t get Maine.”

I grew up on Long Island, NY. I lived in California for about 17 years, back when it was great. I’ve lived in Maine for the last twenty years. I vote a straight Republican ticket.

The northern half of Maine has a lot of poverty, so those folks vote for the politicians who promise them the most government programs, sorry to say. So even though Obama got 57 per cent of the vote in a state that’s 98 per cent white, those voters still have a boat load of firearms in their homes, especially in rural areas.

We have a lot of liberals who moved here from Massachusetts, too. Southern Maine has the bulk of Maine’s population, and there are plenty of transplants from Massachusetts and other liberal states.

On a bright note, in 2010 Maine elected a TEA Party guy, Paul LePage, as governor. It was rural northern Maine that put him over the top. The Maine Senate and Maine House went GOP in 2010, for the first time in 50 years. Unfortunately, the dems outspent the GOP this past election cycle, and on November 6th, the dems re-took the Maine Senate and the Maine House.

So, to answer your question, there are lots of poor people in the rural areas who favor big government programs, and plenty of transplanted liberals with money. That’s the problem with this state. I wish I lived in Texas!

They would not dare to enforce federal immigation law. And Holder would stop them if they tried.

Great answer. Are the locals required to enforce federal law?

“UN troops, what a joke. Their casualty rate would be perhaps the highest ever encountered when they got to the rural areas of the US. Better tell Ban Ki-moon to order one body bag per trooper sent.”

“what will it take to penetrate one of those vehicles?”

Realistically you can expect to be facing an entry team fully covered in body armor rated to stop 5.56 and 7.62 russian and behind a ballistic shield rated for those rounds or better.

All this hypothetical speaking... If it gets that far they are flirting with guerrilla warfare.

They're millions of ARs and AKs and other so called like guns in this country.

You are welcome.

I have no doubt that some Freepers would do just what they say but I also remember another lesson from Greek history.

Demosthenes who was a great orator almost single handedly persuaded the Athenians to stand and fight against Philip of Macedonia. His speeches were known as Philippics.

Unfortunately at the Battle of Chaeronea, Demosthenes was one of the first ones to run.

DO THEY THINK THEY’RE JUST GOING TO GO DOOR-TO-DOOR AND TAKE THEM??

I think they really expect us to march like lemmings to the police department and turn them in. In general, the populace tends to obey every legal order, why not this one? They don't seem to understand that THIS is the straw that will break the camel's back .... CWII coming right up, IMO.

How can they round up millions of guns if they told us it was impossible to round up and deport 10 million illegals?
