Affleck leaves door open to Senate run

Oscar-winning Cambridge native Ben Affleck -- who played a congressman in the 2009 political thriller “State of Play” -- isn't ruling out a real-life run for office in the pending Massachusetts race to fill Sen. John Kerry's seat but downplayed the idea in an interview aired today.

In a segment airing today on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” a coy Affleck, 40, tells host Bob Schieffer with a nervous laugh, “Well, for one thing, the state of Massachusetts currently has two extraordinary senators, so there is no vacancy,” when pressed by Schieffer on whether he’ll run for fellow Democrat Kerry’s U.S. Senate seat should Kerry be confirmed as secretary of state, as expected.

No thanks Ben; you are a good actor, but you’re not needed as a politician. There are enough a-holes in Congress who lie for a living just like you do.

Enjoy the fruits of your labor in Bora Bora or Tahiti please.

“leaves door open” “Isn’t ruling out”

Mealy mouthed phrases meant to disguise the fact that Affleck hopes somebody cares.

It would be his for the taking in this age of celebrity-trumps-all.

It is the next logical step in our demise. Celeberties are worshiped by a large percentage of the population. Most people don’t know who their congressman is but they know all about American Idol, Snooki and the Kardashians.

Fauxchahontas was elected thru targeted voter fraud in 5 cities, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Salem and Worcester.

Guess which cities have the largest concentrations of illegals and public workers?
(not to mention college students!!)

I am not even mentioning Boston, it’s a banana Republic unto itself.

I hear ya FRiend. I have been tooting that horn for a while. Also, the horrible vocabulary of the misguided yoots. Recently, I heard a babe say that she planned on going to “like medical school.” “Like” medical school? Do they diagnose “like a fractured hip’?

Being an opportunistic entrepreneur, these are my favorite types to take money from. If you are an idiot, you deserve to get taken for a ride.

When you go to “like Medical School” you wind up being a Doctor on a show like Grey’s Anatomy, which takes place in a, like, Hospital. You don’t really have to practice medicine on a show like that, you just have to fake it well. What they’re really good at is sex, the medicine is way down on the list of priorities, as it is, I’m sure, for that “babe”.

I was going to say I needed a laugh today, but after reflecting that Massachusetts gave us Barney Frank repeatedly, and Elizabeth Warren recently, not to mention Ted Kennedy for forty years, he’d probably win.

More crap candidates for the “low information” voter...

They are a true voting bloc now, the truly ignorant and un-intersted voters.

This is a man who was cruel to a very beautiful dog. Returned it to the breeder with 3 legs, filthy and emaciated. Told the breeder if she told anyone; people would believe him not her. No thanks.
