Edward M. Kennedy Jr. announces he will not run for US Senate in Massachusetts

Edward M. Kennedy Jr. announced today he would not run for US Senate in Massachusetts, removing a potentially formidable contender for the seat that will be left vacant if US Senator John F. Kerry is confirmed as secretary of state.

“Although I have a strong desire to serve in public office, I consider Connecticut to be my home, and I hope to have the honor to serve at another point in my future,” Kennedy said in a statement.

Kennedy lives in Connecticut but also owns a house at the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport. He is the son of the late Edward M. Kennedy, the liberal lion who represented Massachusetts in the Senate for nearly five decades.

“Edward M. Kennedy, the liberal lion” interesting description. I am sure that they had something else in mind but I can’t help note that male lions are not monogamous or loyal to a single partner either.

Sounds to me like the fix is in for Patrick to appoint Bawney Fwank to Kerry’s seat. Rumor has it that Fwank will take the job.

The last thing we need is another drunkard in the senate.

Oh crap! I thought we were finally rid of the old Queen. About the only thing he has done for me is the bill named after him and the former doofus Senator from CT keeps me employed trying to implement all of their cockamamie restrictions.

Maybe Liberal Lecher or Liberal Lush would be more appropriate.

What makes you think he hasn't been there already?

Though RFK’s grandson won the Cong. seat of Frank (vs. a good Republican, Sean Bielat)

RFK
Son: Joseph Kennedy II (former cong.), “Joe For Oil”
Son of Joe the IInd, Joe da Turd, er the Third. or Joe Joe Joe

Chappaquiddick Jr prob had a good chance of winning, too.
Now it might be a congressman like Markey or Capuano vs,
likely, Brown.

Special election prob in June. Temp. sen. to be appointed by Gov Patrick soon (once Kerry officially appointed SecState)
and supposedly they are encouraged to not run in that
June (likely) special election

Now the Dems are fearful Brown can win it, as no
Kennedy will run.

Perhaps he’s busy in the family struggle against alternate energy on Cape Cod. Or the family date rape business.

Sure trash-talk the Kennedy Heritage all you want, Sunk!

But lemme ask you, without these young fellas following in their Uncle and Daddy Ted's big wet footsteps, just who the hell else would be running all the crucial daily Q.C. on recreational drugs and Scotch Whiskey, not to mention testing the iffy virtue of young ladies in danger of going seriously astray?

The Kennedys stand between us and chaos. Just one bad batch from an unregulated Colombian lab could wipe out entire cities! Just one nubile female with an uncertain moral compass could destroy a hard-working family's health insurance! It's exhausting and vital work, but the Klassy Kennedy Klan, imbued with the New England spirit of community service, knows that it must be done to protect you, and me, and all the other little people out there.

Don't let your cynicism destroy the love, baby!
