Alongside a slew of Hollywood celebrities, mayors such as New York’s Michael Bloomberg, Chicago’s Rahm Emanuel and St. Paul’s own Chris Coleman are calling for more gun control and taking the NRA to task for calling for armed guards in every school.

Coleman, a vice president of the National League of Cities, released the following statement on the Newtown, Conn. tragedy on Friday, Dec. 21.

"On the day when we’re still burying children killed in Newtown, CT, the NRA has the audacity to say the answer is more guns and more violence that exposes our children to unprecedented dangers. As a mayor, as a father, and as a citizen, I’m appalled by this reckless disregard for the safety of our children. We must have a real conversation about how to protect our children and all members of our community that, among other items, includes: prohibiting the manufacture and sale of the military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips, federal legislation that addresses the broken background check systema, legislative package that makes gun trafficking a felonydirecting the Justice Department to crack down on rogue gun dealers, outlawing cop-killer bullets and similar ammunition...

The designation of 'low information' applies to too many of our 'leaders'.

Clueless in the extreme.

It’s so sad when people, especially those elected to be our leaders just don’t get it.

So typical for a lib to work to allow convicted murderers and the dangerously mentally ill to roam free, and then blame everyone and everything else for the inevitable result.

More gun control is the wrong argument.

What is the one thing, that all of the insane killings in the US have in common with each other? Mom drowns 4 kids in bath tub, all of the shooters so far that we have gotten medical records for, and the mom.

They were on big pharma anti depressants, which if you read the adverse side effect like detachment, anger, reclusiveness, ect. There warnings seem to come to fruition in rather disturbing ways. So where is our drug czar, or the FDA that approve these questionable drugs, after they have been lobbied endlessly to approve them? Crickets...

“So, Mr. Mayor, are you calling for an expedited death penalty for mass killers? Or are you planning to build a state of the art mental hospital for deranged psychotic killers?”

“As a mayor, as a father, and as a citizen, I’m appalled by this reckless disregard for the safety of our children”

According to this d-bag, putting security in the schools is a reckless disregard for the safety of our children?

Blood for influence is the socialists’ price
Monsters who encourage child sacrifice.

Politics in tragedy while advantage is found
Before young bodies are cold in the ground
Milking disaster for a drop of political gain
While horrors are fresh, hearts raw with pain.

Let those who guard our masters, guard children instead
Let their offices and homes be weapon-free zones
And see how well the vultures sleep in their beds.

‘Liberal’ and ‘logic’ aren’t things that mix well, apparently.

Oh, I think they get it. They’re playing a part for the benefit of all their “low information” constituents. I’ve come to believe that most politicians are masters of manipulation, and what we’re going to witness in the next few months will demonstrate how far politicians are willing to go with their lies and deceit.

And his answer is to keep our children in danger, but proposing only that the number of bullets a gun can fire before reloading be limited to 10.

In the Newtown shooting, the killer had 3 weapons, and only used one. He killed himself before the police actually saw him, so he was not under any time pressure.

So, even if he had run out of bullets for his rifle, he could have killed up to 20 more children just using 10 bullets from each of his other guns — which, if they had 10-round clips, would not be considered “assault weapons” either.

So, his proposal essentially allows all the children to still be killed, although some of them would have had to wait for a few seconds while the killer reloaded, knowing their fate and being powerless to stop it.

This is what liberals think is a GOOD solution — killing all the children, just a little bit slower.

The NRA solution doesn’t save all the children in all cases, but it has the benefit of making it possible to stop a killer before they finish, and also to deter the killer.

No mass murderer has ever tried to shoot up the school where the President sends his kids. Why? Because they know it is well-armed.

I guess if you can send your kids to an armed fortress of a school, it is easier to suggest that others send their kids to publicly announced unprotected schools.

And the sad thing is, at the moment schools are about 100 times as safe as the rest of the world.

Even with gun-free zones, kids are much less likely to be killed in a school, than outside of a school.

We are arguing over how to make one of the safest places in the country safer, when the real problem is that you can’t walk down a city street without a significant risk of injury or death.

No. He gets it. Coleman is bought and paid for by the Socialist Democrat Farm Labor mafia.

No lie is too big, nor can it be told too often, to suit their purposes.

THIS IS BY DESIGN.

With a fully Democrat State legislature and drug-addict Dayton for governor, we are in for a hard time of it up here.

I will not comply. Period.

I’m guessing most mayor’s kids in urban areas go to private schools and probably have security there and other places.

Not sure about comrade Chrissy’s.
