NBC was told by the Washington, D.C., police that it was “not permissible” to show a high-capacity gun magazine on air before Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” according to a statement Wednesday from the cops.

Much as I detest David Gregory, I’m more concerned with the fact that a city has that type of draconian law.
Whatever happened to “shall not be infringed”?

Note that it says “NBC was told”. Gregory will say some low-level aide was told by the police and failed to inform him or the higher-ups. Presto! Low-level grunt gets thrown under the bus and goes to jail, everyone else at NBC walks.

TV killed off a lot of print media so its ironic that a magazine did him in.

Pleading ignorance of the law is not something that criminal courts regard as valid.

If they’d have taken-off the mag’s baseplate, removed the spring and followers, I wonder if it’d still be considered an illegal 30-rnd mag, and against the law?
