the media went to great lengths to characterize the Tea Party as wite and borderline racist, thereby limiting its reach anmong minorities. This is the game.

I agree. Trying to reform Washington from the inside is a lost cause. The Tea party was and is a great movement but it came too late to save Washington.

If you ask me where do we go from here my answer will remain the same.

In my opinion the ONLY way forward is for the states to assert their sovereignty by calling a constitutional convention.

We need to propose and ratify a few amendments and changes that will restore limited government as outlined in our constitution.

The tea party could lead the way in this effort. We need 34 states to trigger and 38 to ratify the changes. The founders knew when they wrote article five that one day the federal government could become corrupt and refuse to control itself. We have now arrived at that very point.

I’ll go out and research it, but briefly explain to me how a constitutional convention could go about being called?

Is it citizen petitions in each state that brings this about?

This is a great place to start. Fairly short three part series from the Goldwater institute.

Note: the page displayed is the summary and part one is a link just below. It's a small .pdf file.

Let me know what you think
