Congressional leaders spoke Friday after meeting about the fiscal cliff with President Barack Obama at the White House.

-snip-

McConnell spoke immediately after Reid, saying, “I share the view of the majority leader. We had a good meeting down at the White House.

“We are engaged in discussions, the majority leader and myself and the White House, in the hopes that we can come forward as early as Sunday and have a recommendation that I can make to my conference and the majority leader [Reid] can make to his conference and so we’ll be working hard to try and see if we can get there in the next 24 hours,” he said. “And so I’m hopeful and optimistic.”

Brown didn’t mentions specifics. And he was slapped down by McConnell, Reid and Obama for mentioning that Obama had reached out to McConnell. We’ll know the specifics of the Obama Plan because it will be the Reid-McConnell plan with a side agreement for Reid not to push filibuster reform and completely castrate McConnell in the Senate.

Any discussions should be given the same amount of attention as when a fly travels about the room.

The founding fact is that the house, as the closest part of the government to the people, as the only govt body whose members can completely turn over every 2 years, is SOLELY the one responsible for origination of revenue raising. The house/senate are SOLELY responsible for origination of legislation. The president can stick his negotiations where the sun don’t shine.

The only Adult thing to do is for the house to meet in its committees (sub, committee of the whole, etc) to figure out where to go from here WRT revenue. They already did this last summer. Hairy Reed (sicK!) and the whole ‘Rat cabal are blocking that bill from a vote, from any budgets being passed, and deserve all the blame.

“Good meeting”...only if nobama resigned or was led out of the oval office and frog-marched to prison? Now that would be a “good meeting” with this anti-American loser, nobama.

Right on!
The Tea Party has had it with the lying RINos and Dems.

Reading the whole article makes me somewhat optimistic too. Though any connection it has to reality is speculative.

McConnell is a very savvy politician. He knows he can be primaried out of town if he caves.
Accepting even a little bit of Democrat cancer in any “deal” amounts to a cave.

The next week should be fun to watch.

But we gotta keep burning up the congressional phone and Internet lines just in case—that's how we scuttled Quisling Boehner’s so-called “Plan B.”

TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY is both the name and the battle cry of the only party that has a chance of rescuing our beloved country from the Evil Left.

KY loves the gobbler McConnell so much, they ignored his hand picked
candidate for Senate and elected Rand Paul instead.
Primary out the gobbler.

Mitch “Never Attempt to Win” McConnell.

He and Boehner make a great pair of R congressional leaders—weak and weaker.
