University spends 15K to Fight non-Inclusive Language on Campus
Campus Reform ^ | Dec. 28, 2012 | Carmela Martinez

The University of Maryland (UMD) allocated $15,000 in 2012 to combat the use of language deemed by administrators to be “insensitive.”

This sign, part of the "inclusive language campaign," discourages students from using the term "illegal alien."

The “words have power” campaign’s goal is to deploy posters, buttons and other promotional materials to help foster an environment on campus that is not offensive to illegal aliens, homosexuals, or other minority groups.

“Non-inclusive language can offend or make spaces uncomfortable for people who are excluded by that language,” one of the campaign posters reads.

Well, looks like the 1st Amendment is NOT being taught at the U of M. This “university” needs a spanking — and fast.

And, this is the very reason the Founding Fathers included the 2nd Amendment in the Bill of Rights — to protect all the others!!

Rule 1: the intellectual power of a university is inversely proportional to the emphasis on diversity.

The proof is left to the student.

Diversity Forever

The University of California backs a tax hike to support its ever-expanding (diversity) bureaucracy.

Amy Martin, the administrator who oversees the campaign, however, dismissed such concerns, saying the posters simply provide students with suggestions of proper language.

Martin said the idea was born after a series of LGBT forums where staff heard students use “non-inclusive” language. She applied for funding from the Office of Diversity Inclusion and launched the campaign after being granted $15,000.

“I think so far it has created some interesting conversations on campus,” Martin told Campus Reform.

"Conversation" is the new liberal buzzword for "shut up".

Less Academics, More Narcissism ___The University of California is cutting back on many things, but not useless diversity programs.

http://www.city-journal.org/2011/cjc0714hm.html

Not only have diversity sinecures been protected from budget cuts, their numbers are actually growing. The University of California at San Diego, for example, is creating a new full-time “vice chancellor for equity, diversity, and inclusion.” This position would augment UC San Diego’s already massive diversity apparatus, which includes:

Chancellor’s Diversity Office

Associate vice chancellor for faculty equity

Assistant vice chancellor for diversity

Faculty equity advisor

Graduate diversity coordinators

Staff diversity liaison

Undergraduate student diversity liaison

Graduate student diversity liaison

Chief diversity officer

Director of development for diversity initiatives

Office of Academic Diversity and Equal Opportunity

Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issue

Committee on the Status of Women

Campus Council on Climate, Culture and Inclusion,

Diversity Council

Cirectors of the Cross-Cultural Center

Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center

Women’s Center

Yeah, and I’ve got 2 kids at the University of California— one of whom just started!!

Tuition has gone up by 75% over the last five years — the cost is unbelievable. We’ve already taken out massive loans for kid #1, and kid #2 is next.

And our $$ is going to support utter garbage like this.

This is my boy Martin O’Malley pissing away my tax money.

A long time lover of illegal aliens, faggots and just plain Government waste.

But you see the darker people, and yellow dog Democrats in PG , Baltimore and Montgomery love the a-hole.

Martin sopends Millions for Casa De Maryland, but he cannot fix our highways.

Withhold funding and donations to this POS U. What a joke. Where’s the administration, politicians and other “academics” over this? Alumni?

Ridiculous.

Are the words, “Bite me” inclusive enough?

How soon before jails are built on campus to incarcerate those who use words from the “banned” list — a list some group like LGT or some faceless bureaucrat has deemed merits harsh punishments if they’re uttered.

It also opens a very dangerous door, as the list will grow and grow and grow.

Thanks for the list.

Meanwhile at the orientation for my son’s UC program (hard science, BTW), the professors were complaining about massive increases in class sizes, cuts to their budget (so they couldn’t buy equipment and materials for experiments), furlough days.

Yet, expensive “diversity” chancellors and programs are fully funded.

This country IS going to hell.

How about "Wet back" instead?

Actually you’re probably paying for more than two tuitions. Someone has to take up the slack for the hardship scholarships, minority scholarships and foreign students.

Oh, so correct. That is paid through tuition.

But also through the punitive taxes I’m forced to pay in California to support the hoards of illegal aliens and their spawn that have set up shop here.

I’ll be the last rat out leaving a sinking ship. California is my home and if it weren’t for elderly relatives I’d be gone —WITH my tax $$, my brother too with his small business that employes 40+.

PS: I WON’T turn the lights or faucets off — let the entire system crash and burn — hell, we’re 80% there already!!

I know about the elderly relative thing (oh so well). But I would be making plans NOW to disencumber myself from that place. Things like putting your house on the market (if you own one) and rent. Downsize everything in case you have to move quickly. Instead of college (unless your kids have a definite sure fire career path and are enthusiastic about it)consider a trade school. Machinists, welders, plumbers and electricians are always in demand somewhere. Talk to your relatives about leaving to see if they are amenable to Tahoe or Vegas. Probably not high on their want list but at least plant the seed that Kalifornia might be a good place to be from.
