Not so sure I agree with your hypothesis that gluten prevents obesity...I'd say it's a fact that Americans are fatter than ever.

I've seen many a morbidly-obese welfare-hog, with equally fat-pig children in tow, piloting a supersized shopping cart (or two) piled to overflowing with boxes and bags of carbohydrate/sugar laden junkfood, and not a single healthy food item in the mix.

(Mostly white) Taxpayers are paying the grocery bills of many morbidly obese welfare hogs thus subsidizing their health problems...problems that lead to many early deaths.
