Could you legally put up a sign on your lawn saying your neighbor was an easier target than you were? /s

Make the JN an accomplice to all burglaries/assaults/robberies in the counties published to date.

Don’t know about putting up a sign; but it strikes me as interesting that the same liberals who go on and on about privacy are perfectly willing to reveal personal information about citizens who are exercising their legal rights with the hope of adversely affecting those citizens.

Sure makes it easier for criminals to find the undefended homes.

There's at least two aspects to their thinking. First, they believe that listing the homes of gunowners subjects them to some sort of public shame. Second, and this is creepy, I believe some of them think that the fact that guns may be in the home makes those homes a preferential target, because guns are desirable tools for criminals. The libs don't care if the criminals have to go in "hot" to overwhelm possible resistance.

Of course, the flip-side is that the criminals also know who is unarmed... but that requires a little bit of thinking to perceive the unintended consequence.

They should have sold this list.
No thief wants to get caught.
If you can chose a home without a gun owner you would have a greater advantage of success.

This list encourages thirds which homes to choose. Of course some homes have illegal gun owners. It still increases your odds.

Expecting lawsuits against paper for any house robbed not on list.

Free speech? Maybe. Doesn’t exactly encourage
action against neighbor.
No different than the neighbor advertising you have a gun.

In the U.S.A:

1. Burglars invade 2.5 million homes every year
2. At least 400,000 women get raped every Year
3. Less than 100 people in the U.S.A get killed by mass shooters even though the news media egg them on promises to make them world famous , their shooting stars.

In a country of 330 million people the mass shootings are statistically insignificant. the media/democrats put women and people who live in homes in danger as they seek to empower government and disemopower the individual

Burglary Facts

Every 13 seconds a home intrusion is committed.
2.5 million+ home intrusions are committed each year.

Look at what a black male did to hope melton, raped and beat her to death with a bat:

Were I of the criminal persuasion (not all of them are dumb), I would opt for the target where I was reasonably confident that no harm would befall me (i.e., the unarmed homes).

Also, the consequences of home invasion/armed robbery are much more dire than those of simple burglary; further increasing the attractiveness of unarmed homes.

This shows how warped and stupid the liberal mind is. Why would they think a gun owner would be ashamed of owning guns? I own guns and everybody who knows me is aware of that fact. Gun owners aren’t hiding like the perverted liberals who chase little boys and girls.

"However, one other thing they unwittingly accomplished was letting criminals know which homeowners are unarmed and therefore, which homeowners could be sitting ducks."

As I see it, NYJN has given the sitting duck homeowners a good "legal" reason to purchase guns.

Sure makes it easier for criminals to find the undefended homes.

This is a non-issue since New York law (except in NYC) does not require the registration of long arms and therefore, a criminal can't assume that a house is "undefended" simple because the occupant does not show up on the newspaper website as the registered owner of a handgun. I know many people in Westchester and Rockland Counties who do not have a handgun permit, but do have a Rem 870 or Moss 500 loaded with 00 under the bed

The real problem is that gun thiefs now know what homes to target.

Just because the guns aren’t registered doesn’t mean they aren’t armed...we have several that we inherited that aren’t. Several shotguns and a loaded 38....heck, when you put all the shotguns, rifles and handguns we have, we have a small army going. Someone breaks into my house, registered or not, that gun is going to get used!
