Tax Deal Finalized
NRO ^ | December 31, 2012 | Robert Costa

Posted on 12/31/2012 12:36:48 PM PST by Ron C.

Senior Senate Republican aides tell NRO that the tax side of the fiscal-cliff deal has been finalized. Here’s a sketch of the framework:

— Current tax rates would be permanently extended for singles making $400,000 or below, and permanently extended for couples making $450,000 or below

— For singles, capital gains and dividends of $400,000 or below would be permanently taxed at 15 percent; capital gains and dividends above $400,000 would be permanently taxed at 20 percent

Quick, we need to make more corn and soybean acreage... @ $10,000/acre that's equal to about 5 acres per paper ream of $100 bills!

Those farmers are rich! /s

Oh! Oh! Oh! You mean Obama gets to make changes! Oh! We didn’t know that! Can we make changes? We can? Wow. Maybe we should war game things out to see how changes could affect us. Or how they could affect the Democrats. What a novel concept.

If they went over the cliff, the GOP would be done for.

Bull Crap from the MSM. They're telling us what Oboma wants us to think. WHO said Republicans would be blamed? The LEFT! That doesn't mean it's true.

A recent poll release today shows 44% of the population blames the Republicans for this mess, and 36% blame the Democrats. The other 20 will only see their taxes go up or their bennies go down under Oboma - and they've never even heard of some guy named Boehner!
Those are not enough chips on his side of the table to pull this off. We go over the cliff, Oboma goes with us.

Wrongo!

The GOP have NO SPINE!!

They could've demanded spending cuts, but no, that's not what this Kabuki Theatre was EVER about. Just tax increases. Always has been.

“Yes it got kicked down the road but this country just elected a president that will not budge on spending in a way that is to our liking. That being said, I pay tens of thousands in federal taxes as it is and am glad that the rates will not go up with this agreement. I can’t afford it.”

Are you in for a rude surprise when they Lower income thresholds at these higher rates..

Recall when FDR started Social Security there only 50,000 beneficiaries, so he as able to get it passed.
To date there are now 50,000,000 and growing.

Welcome to the real world, you know the one where the frog gradually has the fire turned up and doesn’t realize he is toasted

I won’t argue that, but he is who the majority of those that voted said that they wanted. They sowed their seeds and I hope that they have a boundiful and bitter[for them]harvest. It is already bitter for me.

I’m still waiting for the $100 billion in spending cuts we were promised 16 months ago in exchange for the $2.5 trillion debt ceiling increase. Surely Boehner and McConnell brought this up, right? Please tell me that Boehner went on TV to tell America that the Democrats did not honor what they said they would do last time. Please tell me McConnell said on live TV that Obama could not be trusted. Please tell me.

And the spending cuts get kicked down the road....again!
**********
Obama isn’t going to cut spending now or in the future. There will simply be more excuses and fear mongering by Democrats (e.g., they’re going to shut down the national parks!) to avoid having to take meaningful actions to stop the runaway spending. The debt ceiling debate will be an even bigger farse than the fiscal cliff.

The permancy portion of the deal should be viewed by all as a huge positive.

I agree with that. If "sequestration" set up by that execrable "super committee" is finally dead, it'll be interesting to see what happens next year.

Frankly, with Obama in office, and the majority of the country (apparently) supportive of him given his re-election, he should get all the spending he wants. Maybe the EBT cards will flash "NSF" faster that way and we can get on with it all...

They want to punt the spending cuts down the road again - an McConnell thinks he’s got a “good deal”.

I’m sitting here watching the movie War Games. Life was so straightforward back then. Or at least it seems that way. Boy times have changed since the 80’s. No Bamster, obamacare, fiscal cliffs -our president didn’t hate our country....

Since the election, I've come to face the fact that we're just watching the collapse play out.

Right now, we borrow $4.8 BILLION a day. We print paper money at $4 BILLION a month ( unrestricted Quantitative easing). These two false economies are the only things creating the illusion we have an economy. Oboma broke the bank during his last term. The freeloaders have outspent the employed by trillions, and no one dares risk the social unrest associated with forcing the freeloaders to earn their own way.

It's going to end badly. The welfare checks will stop. It's not a matter of "if" at this point. It's a matter of "when." As long as Oboma can keep the illusion alive, we'll hold on, but once that veil is removed, working people had better be well armed.
One day soon, the welfare cards aren't going to arrive. They're not going to warn us in advance, either. They need time to save themselves and their own families first. The Washington elites will already be on their way to a private secure island or safely tucked away in their secured bunkers to wait it out by the time the freeloaders figure it out.

Preppers know something isn't right. They just can't put a name on it, so they try to guess what's going to happen.

“All this leaves only one possible outcome, economic calamity.”
******
Well, they bought a little more time to postpone the calamity: maybe about two weeks. They also managed to fool the market before it closed for the year.

The only real hope is to drastically cut spending but that’s never going to happen. Dysfunctional is too nice of a word to describe Washington. It’s more like corrupt, spineless, irresponsible and deceptive. Yep, that’s our government.

This is the problem. Repeatedly curb stomped by the dims and the GOP just asks for another.

They could have ground down the dims as verified liars about this and many other things. Obamacare estimates, etc., etc.

But that would a tough slog for the GOP without the MSM carrying their water. Too heavy a load apparently for the careerist beltway GOP. History will damn them.

As the GOP continues to sell out conservatives...we will still have PhonyCons attacking any Third Party Conservative.

If you are really conservative....you will stop wasting your vote on the two liberal parties. If you are really conservative, time to stop making excuses

The Pubbies should have demanded to see proposed spending cuts. No talk or deals without first seeing meaningful spending cuts. Period. But the Stupid Party keeps thinking they can negotiate in good faith with Obama.

Understand your point but how many job makers are makingless than $400K? The people with the money to hire others are making more than that and are going to be punished for their success and discouraged from expanding their businesses. I don’t see how this really helps the economy.

From another Foxnews piece...

Logistically speaking, it is highly unlikely that both chambers can pass anything by midnight, after which the more than $500 billion in tax hikes are set to start kicking in, followed by sweeping spending cuts.

To me it looks like the better deal for we-the-people is for them to NOT reach a deal. At least then 'sweeping spending cuts' will take place, and 500 billion in new taxes is supposedly slightly LESS than what the 'Deal' stipulates. Can we verify that?

I think what this POS prez really wants is no deal - so he can continue to blame republicans for the 'fix' we are in. When HE is the MAIN REASON we find ourselves in this financial chaos.

Look (perhaps) for a NewYears day hail-mary to pass, with little difference in what has been proposed, with LOWER spending cuts.

And once again legislation begins in the senate just proving the constitution is no longer.

Not really a preper, but I know something isn't right also. Remember, there is a new $100 bill due to come out next year.....perfect time for a devaluation....but who knows?
