President Obama is Responsible for Our Fiscal Mess
American Thinker ^ | 12/31/2012 | Neil Snyder

President Obama is responsible for our fiscal mess. I'm not exaggerating, and I'm not saying that simply because I think that Barack Obama is a terrible president, although I do think that he's an awful president. I'm saying that because the president has had ample opportunity over the past four years to arrive at a compromise solution to our immediate fiscal problem and then to make headway toward dealing with longer-term fiscal issues, but he has failed miserably.

If the president had taken some of the advice of his own National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility, we wouldn't be counting the minutes before we fall off the fiscal cliff, but he didn't heed their warning two years ago. Even worse, he has given us no indication that he ever intends to take our nation's spending problem seriously.

The word "compromise" must not appear in Obama's dictionary. That fact has been obvious since Day One of his presidency. His first major initiative, Obamacare, was figuratively shoved down the throats of members of Congress, even members of his own party.

It has been Obama's way or the highway since the beginning, and it's still his way. This time there will be a high price to pay.

Yesterday on "Meet the Press", the president told David Gregory that he cut spending by more than a trillion dollars in 2011. That's pure nonsense, but he got away with it because Gregory was too busy licking the president's shoes to do his job.

Anyone who believes that President Obama cut spending in 2011 needs to have his head examined, and spending continues to be the most serious fiscal problem that we face. That's what the Fiscal Responsibility Commission told the president. There is no way to solve our nation's fiscal problem without cutting spending, period.

obama has not failed! He’s accomplishing exactly what he wants to accomplish. It’s all going according to plan.

In our current situation, the President and the Democrat leadership is far more interested in setting up situation where they can lie and blame Republicans for the mess they themselves created than taking steps to deal with the problems.

The Republicans are just too stupid to defend themselves.

It’s instructional to see compare the two sides. The Republicans seem have become exhausted and distraught trying to work to avert a disaster.

The President and the Democrats look like they have not lost any sleep over the crisis they created and seem delighted that things seem to be going according to plan.

I think those of us not drinking the kool-aid know that he is at the center of all our problems.

First rule in Obama-nation.... Obama is the smartest guy in the room

Second rule in Obama-nation...since Obama is the smartest guy in the room...someone else is at fault...

Therefore it is an logically impossible that Obama is responsible for our fiscal mess...

Uh, Neil, buddy, I'll put this as gently as I can. The president hasn't failed. In fact, he's been reasonably effective. You see, he doesn't want to solve this crisis. It's the major plank in his plan to turn the US into a third world country. With him as dicktator for life, of course.

Sorry.

This is the problem. Snarky, smarmy Obama has been blaming everybody and everything his can name for the problems of the country, yet it was his stimulus program that sent government spending to the moon. Instead of having a one-shot stimulus, the extra spending got baked into the federal budget. Why we can’t go back to pre-stimulus levels is beyond me. It seems that that is the only way out of this mess. The spending cuts that are being discussed (if they are discussed at all) are just pennies in the pond. If we cut $100 billion from this year’s budget, we would STILL have a trillion dollar deficit. The sickest thing about this is that four years of ‘stimulus’ has not improved anything. The economy has shown very few signs of strength (despite the media trying to polish every turd they can get their hands on).

The worst is yet to come. According to Paul Sperry “The Great American Bank Robbery,” the Obama admin is yet again forcing banks to make the same bad loans that caused the financial disaster of 2007. You can blame that one mostly on Bill Clinton, but The Great Spreader, His Highness King Barack will be responsible for this one.

The American people have allowed their government to run amok.

They have allowed their government to rob them blind and their children blind and their children’s children blind.

They willfully believe in obvious lies.

For the people I have described, though that description does not describe every single person in America, Barack Obama is the perfect ruler for them, and they deserve what he brings.

Why should WE pay more taxes so he can take his sorry butt on another vacation? He should use what is available to the office of President, not go galavanting all over the planet.

I’m 59 and have been through my share of recessions. My general experience is they happen every 10 years and last about three years each. The difference this time is that both Bush and then Obama brought the government into the recession that began in 2008. Everything would be fine by now if the jerks had just let the economy self-correct. But no!!!!!!! SOBs!

Sorry guys, the left has been working on destroying America for over 100 years.

Globalist transnational elites have been step-by-step working towards one world government for over 100 years.

Obama is simply the operative sitting in the white hut at the moment.

HillBillary are working for the same idealogy.

The Bushes are new-world order types as well.

There are hundreds of thousands of idealogues throughout our society that are actively seeking the dream of worldwide control - universities are chock full of them, as is the Federal government, the State governments, the news media, the entertainment industry.

Obama is one of them, but there are thousands ready to take his place.

Yes, and our House Republicans can do nothing about it. They’re helpless, because Obama has already taken our country as a dictator and is watching everyone with his flying saucers that read and control minds. Our House Republicans are victims of mind control. They’re like battered wives, and we know that all “males” are wife beaters. Maybe another fascist politician posing as a conservative from another planet (the northeast) will save us.

;-)

[Little irony and sarcasm there. The bipartisan political/regulator class believes that their nonpolitical underlings—technically inclined Americans—are all fools, and their political speech has been showing it in hysterical terms for years.]

The author is wrong. LBJ is responsible for our current problems. Until his Great Society we were able to cover the costs of the New Deal, the Fair Deal, and all the other stinking dim deals. I wonder when the military will honor its oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign or domestic. I assume they are paying attention.

True but I don't deserve what is coming. I am a citizen with rights not a subject with privileges. Nor am I a slave to the takers in our society and the damn government has no authority to make me one.

The American Thinker don’t think so good. Obama gets his share of the blame but there are others that share in the responsibility. At one time not all that long ago the GOP had control and only managed to add to the debt problem.

In a way that makes them responsible for Obama. The GOp had a chance to show the rewards of conservative fiscal policy and that would have made it much tougher for Obama to come along and send the debt wildly upward.
