Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama Most Admired in 2012
Gallup ^ | 12/31/2012 | Frank Newport

PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans again this year name Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama as the Most Admired Woman and Most Admired Man living in any part of the world. Clinton has been the Most Admired Woman each of the last 11 years, and Obama has been the Most Admired Man five years in a row. First lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Condoleezza Rice are next in line behind Clinton on the Most Admired Woman list, while Nelson Mandela, Mitt Romney, Billy Graham, George W. Bush, and Pope Benedict XVI follow Obama as Most Admired Man.

These results are based on a Dec. 19-22 USA Today/Gallup poll. Gallup's "Most Admired" question is open-ended, asking Americans to name, without prompting, the man and the woman they most admire living in any part of the world. Gallup first asked Americans to name their Most Admired Man in 1946, and in 1948 expanded the question to both genders. The question was not asked in 1976, and in 1967 only the Most Admired Man question was asked.

The open-ended nature of the question produces the names of people with high top-of-mind name identification, most often hailing from the world of government and politics; the list also includes individuals who have become famous serving humanitarian causes and others whose fame comes from the business and entertainment worlds.

This year, seven of those on the top 10 Most Admired Man list are from the world of U.S. government and politics: Obama, Romney, the two George Bushes, Bill Clinton, Ron Paul, and John McCain. One is from international politics -- Nelson Mandela -- and three are from religious vocations -- Billy Graham, Pope Benedict XVI, and the Dalai Lama.

Well, I do hope, at least, and I mean LEAST, that Americans won’t let Obama and his legion take away their 2nd amendment rights.

However, I think Obama will get what he wants because we are too far gone to stand up to the tyranny coming very soon!

RE: He was the line in the sand, the bridge too far. Deal with it.

NOPE, YOU CUT THE CRY BABY STUFF.

Sorry, I disagree with you here. I still believe that there would have been a better deal if Romney had won. You may disagree, but so what? There are many of us who disagree with you as well.

Now. we’re stuck with this man for 4 years thanks to enough people who think like you.

Would have preferred him yes, my guy no.

Just curious, what have you accomplished?

Ever save a business?

What is your net worth?

No, the problem was the candidate.

Romney as the candidate, changed a can’t lose election, to a didn’t win, he was a flat, confusing, contradictory, even baffling candidate.

In the end one has to see it as it is, Romney has always been a loser during his 20 years as a candidate, and he brought that quality to this election as well, to this day no one knows anything about the guys politics or political agenda or if he even had one, or what his 7 year obsession with being president was about.

LOL, what am I worth?

No wonder you guys led the GOP to one of it’s most disastrous choices ever, in choosing the most out of touch, most liberal, most anti-conservative, anti-American, nominee in republican history.

My first reaction was WTF?

Upon reflection, I realize that this has to be the most fraudulent or inept poll ever.

The respondents were chosen at random or not.
The number of repondent better be in the hundreds of thousands, else this is just another circle jerk by the hundreds of Soros-funded propaganda machines.

It leads us to the only conclusion.......that people are as stupid as they were in 2008 if not more.

I guess name recognition plays a big part of it. If they ehar a person’s name oftene enough, even when combined with cuss words, they remember the neame and equate it with “admiriation”. I can say this with confidence because the odds are that it was either huge “liberal” samples (or the conservatives refused to play this silly game), and while they can be sly and sneaky, “liberals’ brains don’t function at a very high level - hence BS polls about who is the most admired person...

Sorry about the hostility but I'm not testament to anything Mitt Romney.

In fact I loathe the man, but I hate obama.

It's all a moot point anyway, we're all stuck with bammie for the next four years, I wish you the best.

Happy New Year!
