Prince Harry is a 'jackal' who wants to 'kill innocent Afghans while drunk'

An Afghan warlord has launched a scathing attack on Prince Harry - describing the Royal as a 'jackal' who is only interested in killing 'innocent Afghans while he is drunk'.

Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, who is listed as a global terrorist by the U.S., made the comments as Prince Harry spent Christmas in the war-torn country.

The Prince is currently on a four month long deployment to Afghanistan serving his second tour of duty as gunship co-pilot.

Get him and all the decent young soldiers out of that medieval hole. There is absolutely no reason good young men to sacrifice their precious lives for people committed to the values of the ninth century. Next time some silly politician wants to “nation build” in a backward dump, send thirty thousand laptops with a good internet connection rather than thirty thousand troops. Change comes from within.

Gee. Wouldn’t it be good for everyone if Prince Henry took this guy out?

Note to the Seventh Century warlord: A Seventh Century head chopper is NOT innocent and it is not just Prince Harry -- whether he is drunk or sober -- who wants to kill one. Everyone wants to kill one.

The article describes him as “helicopter pilot” and also as “co-pilot”.

If he is the co-pilot, would that be more accurately described as “gunner” in the US?

The prince always promised to be a crack shot — having been crowned his class's Top Gun pilot after 18 months' rigorous training. The Royal passed the course in February and was handed the Best Co-Pilot Gunner gong at a glittering dinner with comrades.

It meant he was best in his year at the co-pilot's controls of the £46million Apache gunship.

Harry beamed as he was handed the gong — a polished 30mm round from an Apache canon — mounted on a stand.

And now he has been firing the same thing in Helmand.

Harry is a front seat co-pilot, which means he is the mission controller and operates the craft's main weapons.

His pal in the back seat is the Apache's pilot, under the command of the mission controller, tasked with manoeuvring the craft. Apaches are among the world's most sophisticated and deadly helicopters and have terrorised the Taliban for the last five years.

Nah, he's just an Apache pilot. He does it for fun. Drinking is for after the mission while your reviewing your gun tapes.

Yeah, I'm confused too. For once, I have deep respect for a Royal. And that's saying a lot. I've become a Prince Harry fan. He's 1,000 times the Prince than the 1,000 Princes of Saudi Arabia.

One of the best lines in a Tom Clancy novel is from Patriot Games when Jack Ryan is questioned in a British court about whether the US Marines are a "Bloodthirsty lot".

Ryan responds: "Most of the Marines I know drink beer".

Good for Captain Wales, and nice to see that the Royal Family's man card just skipped a generation rather than having been lost altogether.

Same goes with the (British) Royal Family.
