‘Fiscal Cliff’ Deal Also Doles Out Millions for Hollywood, Railroads, Rum Producers
ABC News ^ | 01/02/2013

The “fiscal cliff” compromise has been heralded as a saving grace for middle class taxpayers, their families and the unemployed.

But buried in the fine print of the 150-page deal are also some lesser-known New Year’s gifts to some of Washington’s favorite industries.

SNIP

The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget listed the so-called “tax extenders” as a “bad” part of the fiscal cliff deal because their cost is not offset, “setting a bad precedent for future extensions.” The mix of tax perks covering the next year, but with budget implications for the next two years includes everything from incentives for employers to hire veterans to incentives for employers to invest in mine safety. But it also includes these:

$430 million for Hollywood through “special expensing rules” to encourage TV and film production in the United States. Producers can expense up to $15 million of costs for their projects.

$331 million for railroads by allowing short-line and regional operators to claim a tax credit up to 50 percent of the cost to maintain tracks that they own or lease. $222 million for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands through returned excise taxes collected by the federal government on rum produced in the islands and imported to the mainland.

$70 million for NASCAR by extending a “7-year cost recovery period for certain motorsports racing track facilities.”

$59 million for algae growers through tax credits to encourage production of “cellulosic biofuel” at up to $1.01 per gallon.

$4 million for electric motorcycle makers by expanding an existing green-energy tax credit for buyers of plug-in vehicles to include electric motorbikes.

That is what is most important right?!

BRINGING HOME THAT BACON!

If the country is broke and we revert to living back in 1875, as long as the Ruling Class is still in charge that is all they care about.

Its hard for me to go on thinking of myself as a “Republican” at this point.

I’m not sure what I am as far as partisan politics go. Classic liberal. Small “r” republican. Constitutionalist. That part I know. But whatever Boehner is, whatever the people are who voted for this, I’m not them.

Too bad most of us think republicans added pork - just so they can say “I”m sorry but my constiutients needed help.” What are the odds? 100 to 1 for pork and politicans!

They are addicted...and there’s no one with a clear mind and sufficient organizational capabilities to stage an “intervention”.

This is ABC News, an ABC news product, 100 percent MSM.

READ THE COMMENTS at the site.

The only people the MSM are fooling are those who fall for the illusion that most Americans embrace and vote for liberalism.

Read the comments at this site, and ask youself: how the hell do liberals get elected when such a clear majority of Regular Joes as MSM consumers think liberalism stinks?

Could it be that all those "adult" conservatives who insist that vote fraud isn't extensive enough to make a difference, are WRONG????

We will only regain our country and our freedoms when we wake up to the fact that our country is much better than we've been led to believe, and when we understand the reality that most Americans despise liberalism. But because the MSM and pop culture ignores Regular Joes who reject liberalism, sensible and right-thinking Americans have been fooled into thinking that "most Americans" disagree with them because a) the majority of the MSM and pop culture ARE liberals and b)liberals win elections and only "kooks" think vote fraud tipped the scales in liberals' favor.

It's time to wake up and smell the coffee, America. Liberals have to cheat to win because if they didn't, they'd LOSE. Why would they lose? Because most Americans think they stink. READ THE COMMENTS at MSM news sites!!!!

RE: how the hell do liberals get elected when such a clear majority of Regular Joes as MSM consumers think liberalism stinks?

Simple, enough of these so called “clear majority” did not bother to vote in 2012 for one reason or another and ceded the victory to the libs.
