Less than two weeks after a New York regional newspaper created a national controversy by publishing an online map of registered gun owners in its circulation area, the Journal News has once again brought attention to itself by hiring armed guards to protect its employees, an obvious case of hypocrisy given the publications virulently anti-gun editorial stance.
As you would expect, the Journal News, which had previously touted its love of transparency and an informed public when it published its database of pistol permit holders, did not reveal this information to the public. The news was broken instead by the Rockland Times, a rival newspaper.
Rather than take the map down following the public uproar, the executive board at the Journal News has decided to stick to their guns and double-down on their original decision, as they have said a map listing all pistol permit holders in Putnam County will soon to be posted.
I’m flabbergasted that Gannett, the biggest newspaper company in the country, is letting the bozos at the Journal News go on with this stupid stunt.
Journal News Editors/Writes don't like it when the tables are turned!! (vanity)

Best way to respond
Police say NO THREATS have been made against the paper or it’s employees.

The liberal “mind” has no problem holding 2 contradictory thoughts at the same time.
They need to worry about those dangerous people that go to tea parties and gun shows, since there is so much violence at those events... lol
God love you Josh!
Amen
Just look up Cognitive Dissonance in any modern dictionary, and you will see Liberal Mind as the first example...
Gannett wont do squat!
They started in Upstate NY, and did exactly the same thing in the Rochester, NY Democrat & Chronicle back in the 70s. They had a five or six full page listing of every CC permit holder in the county - full names and titles plus address - around 7000 or so listings. Then, as now, the excuse was “Its public knowledge.”
