SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco police released surveillance video Wednesday of a man believed to have thrown an 18-pound Pekingese named Roxie to her death while mugging her owner in the Tenderloin last week.
The man shown in the video sneaked up to the woman about 5 p.m. Friday as she was looking for her cell phone in her car on Leavenworth Street near McAllister Street, grabbed her by the collar and demanded money, police said.
Roxie began barking at the mugger from the passenger seat as he went through the 30-year-old woman's pockets, the victim told The Chronicle. She asked that her name not be used to protect her safety.
The man said he was going to kill the dog and punched the woman when she tried to hold him back, she said.
As she begged for her 12-year-old dog's life, the man grabbed Roxie by the collar and threw her into the street, where she fell under the wheels of a car, the woman said. Then he ran off.

I won’t watch the video (just don’t have it in me). That being said, what that POS did to the dog and how he traumatized that woman... well, I think there are lower levels of hell for people like this.
As I expected, he’s one of Obama’s sons, hoodie and all. Pretty soon the major networks will be urging the police to arrest the woman for provoking him.
The owner probably voted for Pelosi. Poor dog.

Really narrows it down. While driving through SF yesterday, I saw dozens of black punks in groups, all dressed in black and wearing hoodies. I mean, this is their dress code.

This is a horrible story, and there is no defense for the perp. At the same time, I found it disturbing a few weeks back that I was in a place where the news was on about Newtown, CT, and this young female adult who had no response to the Newtown story reacted with horror to a dog abuse story that followed it up (because it had pictures of a beaten dog).
I don’t advocate abusing them (or even owning them, unless it is a “working dog”), but it is just a dog. If someone threw the perp under a car I’d have a similar reaction...

Here in the NYC metro area they’ll ask for help looking for a murder suspect, give a tip line number, then describe clothes vaguely but not ethnicity/skin color.

Had he just mugged the woman, the public probably would have shrugged, with just conservative sites like FR deploring it. But when he killed her dog, he crossed over into Michael Vick territory.
Vick survived only because he is a good enough athlete that at least one team owner was willing to buy him off the discount rack. Even then it was brutal to him, and pushed him into bankruptcy.
This street scum, on the other hand, now has a vast number of dog lovers who want him nailed. Badly. If someone, him or somebody else, is ID’ed as the ‘dog killer’, they are in deep trouble.

San Francisco is more an amusement park of liberalism than a working, functional city. It still has it’s tourist trade, it’s financial district, a gorgeous baseball park and a few frivolous start-ups going nowhere fast as part of the city’s attempt to portray itself as part of Silicon Valley. It’s also got thousands of derelicts and thugs prowling it’s urine-soaked streets, all under the care of government assistance. Some are certifiably crazy, others are a menace, some are both.
Having said that, if anyone wants to let a contract on this rabid animal with two legs, I would gladly contribute to the pot.

If he was engaged in that activity? Absolutely.
I wish it had been me with my large, police dog/pit bull mix. He’s a rescue dog, knows he was rescued and would kill anyone who tried to harm any one of us.
I also have a small dog and cannot imagine the grief this woman must feel having to witness her beloved pooch tossed under the wheels of a car. She was also punched by this sub human animal
I hope this dirtbag is caught soon. I’d like to let my police dog/pit bull at him.
