It’s an embarrassing time to be a Republican Congressman—albeit an outgoing Congressman.
As negotiators, we utterly failed to meet our two objectives: to reduce spending and prevent tax increases. President Obama demanded tax increases with small spending cuts, and that’s exactly what passed. Thanks to the leadership of Speaker John Boehner, the House passed a bill which raises taxes by $620 billion while cutting spending by a mere $15 billion over 10 years. Usually, a compromise is an even trade (one-for-one). In this trade, House and Senate Republicans traded $41 dollars in tax hikes for every $1 dollar in spending cuts—not exactly a balanced approach. Conservatives can thank the Republican establishment for this profound failure. While establishment Republicans and the media blamed Tea Party conservatives for holding up a deal, we found out last night that Speaker Boehner was willing all along to balk 150 members of his caucus and join with the Democrats to raise taxes.
Speaker Boehner and his merry band of establishment Republicans wanted to blame the tea party freshman for putting him between a rock and a hard place during these negotiations, but that wasn't the case. The truth is, protecting the establishment from their own votes is what has put him in such an untenable spot.
By running out the clock, the Speaker gave his establishment members cover to vote for a deal with President Obama. Boehner is more interested in cutting deals that don't rock the boat with President Obama than defending conservative, debt-reduction principles. This type of compromise is what gave us this fiscal cliff in the first place. In the last two years, the Speaker has given the Democrats exactly what they wanted...

However, the speakership is really a moot point.
The key goal for the country in the next two years (after most of the guns ahve been confiscated) will be eliminating, or simply ignoring, the 2-term Emperor limit. Dear leader will be in the WH for the next 12 years with her holy buttness following for another 12 years...

“2014 loss?” That depends, for each member of the House, on how they vote on every Second Amendment issue.
That's not the point. The question is whether Boehner should have the darned job. The answer is no.
Nobody wants to be President either. Should we keep Obama indefinately?

Not as loud as they would be applauding if SanFranNan would have been elected Speaker.
With the exception of ObamaCare I think you would be startled if you were to review the list of democrat accomplishments under Boehner vs Nancy Pelosi.

Unfortunately when it comes to Boehner I have lost it. That does not make me right and you wrong.
Keep the faith. It's all one can have.
Akin’s final act in his political career was a vote against this Fiscal Cliff bill, while another Missouri Congresswoman [Emerson], who also retired today and who was also under consideration as his replacement in the Senate Race, cast her final vote in office for this bill.
Akin, flaws and all, will be missed.
Conservatives are quickly becoming a party of one. No one is acceptable to us and if they veer even slightly askew from our individual definition of “conservatism,” they are thrown aside. Is it any wonder we are losing? We can’t even agree with each other.
Democrats don't have that problem--they remain lock step in their march forward to destroy our country.
I often find myself wondering who is really posting here. I cannot believe any conservative would ever choose to give up the fight for our country. Yet I see this stated over and over again. It is extremely disheartening. A week is an eternity in politics, things can change in a moment. We have to accept the realties we are faced with as it is an imperfect world we live in. But we never ever give up hope. Never.
Each member of the House can vote “nay” to stop a bad bill from passing. There’s no sense in cult of celebrity propaganda to let any of them off easy for evil votes. Political discussion boards have been looking too much like henhouse publications written by leftist infiltrators and are lacking effectiveness.
Those bills will be posted in full, and so will the votes of all members—repeatedly.
