George Neumayr: The Triumph of Tax-and-Spend Liberalism (that’s the upshot of bipartisanship)
The American Spectator Magazine ^ | 1.3.13 @ 6:11 | George Neumayr

The resolution to the fiscal cliff crisis was fittingly perverse, containing the very prodigal spending and denial of looming deficits that caused it. Washington never fails to use a crisis to compound the underlying elements of the crisis.

This is what passes for bipartisanship in a demagogic age. Pols calculate that the full effects of a crisis won’t be felt until they’re safely out of office. So they don’t mind making it worse while pretending to solve it.

Scaring Republicans into bad policy through such hectoring is the left’s forte and Republicans simply don’t have the courage or conviction to call the left’s bluff.

Bad policy is good politics and good policy is bad politics — that’s the reigning mindset of establishment Republicans. But it is very myopic. Parties that seek to retain power at the expense of principle usually end up with neither. And in the meantime they damage the country by colluding in the errors of their opponents.

The media constantly propagandizes Americans in the idea that the absence of bipartisanship and compromise lie at the root of crises when the truth is that bipartisanship and compromise drive them. It is the bipartisan cooperation in a corrupt conception of the federal government that explains the mushrooming debt. The middle distance between two bad ideas is still a bad idea and thus is never a “compromise” that benefits the country.

So once again a problem caused by frivolous spending is “solved” by more of it. Obama’s euphemism for pork is “investment,” which he sternly promised to protect in his Tuesday speech. He feels cramped by the debt ceiling and demanded that Republicans raise it without impinging upon his new spending plans.

the Republicans are not afraid or lack convictions, what they lack is morals, just like their Democratic partners in crime. It takes morality to not write a bad check or to steal from those with less than yourself. It takes morality to not lie, cheat or steal.

Not a lack of conviction in their cause.

Our Government has only one problem, corruption.

A key element of the communist plan for the destruction of America is to spend us into oblivion.

Boehner and McConnell both sold America down the river in favor of the Dems. The problem is that the ‘Pubbies don’t seem to learn. They have been played time and time again by the Dems who, in essence, say, “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” So, like the dopey morons they are, the ‘Pubbies go along with them.

The problem that the ‘Pubbies never learn is that, for all of the phony promises from the Dems, Tuesday never comes. In the latest screwjob from Congress, the Dems made sure that they got the tax issue nailed down with the ‘Pubbies in agreement, but delayed the spending issue. Whaddya bet the Dems give NOTHING on spending cuts when the debate comes up again??

The Stalinist Progs own the press -- that's what Boehner and McConnell are afraid of, "bad press".

We need to nuke the press somehow -- we've got to shut down the propaganda mill, the hordes of creative, determined liars who are the essential resource of the Prog movement.

The DBM is only a symptom; extreme liberalism is the disease. To fix the problem requires us to dismantle the entire system. The Congress has corrupted and perverted the Constitution to the extent that it is NOT the document the Founders left to posterity. The GOP, the Congress, the schools, the DBM are ALL subject to the influence of liberalism and have all been pulled to the dark side.

The situation is so dire that it is beyond fixing at the ballot box, it requires more aggressive action by the slaves . . . . . . . . er, voters.
