I doubt a diner cared about the guns. My guess is the idiot manager who kicked them out.
Unless I’m mistaken (quite possibly) we got into it back in the primary season. But that was then and it’s a whole new day.
Or I am just wrong and will feel awful sheepish about it ;)
Denny’s acted stupidly. Time for Bambi to call a bacon & eggs summit.
Glad to see Denny’s corporate making amends in good faith. I like their Santa Fe skillets. Hate to boycott them, too.
Illinois is famously uncomfortable about guns among the people.
Ah, but now, just this once, some people are uncomfortable about guns among the governing, but now just LISTEN to the cat-calls and tsk-tsking...!
Fair for me, but NOT for THEE...!!!
The insanity has continued there for so long on the people precisely because the insanity did not fall on the governing class themselves.
I support Denny’s, here.
Oh. May be. We both lost, in the end, I’m sure of that. Thx. Rita.
Years ago I knew a cop who pulled over a teenage girl for speeding. The first thing she said was “I work at McDonald’s and you know we give you free hamburgers, don’t you?”
The cop said “You’ve never given me a free one because I don’t accept them.” Then he wrote her a ticket.
See Denny’s Ad post 29
Denny’s sounds like a criminal magnet. I’ll eat somewhere else.
Depends on the weapon and on the holster and on the clothes. But even if the gun is concealable in principle, why to do so if you can carry it openly, and clothes over the gun will cost you a couple seconds if you have to draw it? Police has to deal with very nasty people. What if there is a fugitive dining at the restaurant?
I know if I were a criminal I’d rob that Dennys.

The 2nd amendment doesn’t preserve your right to keep and bear arms on other people’s property. It is entirely beside the point.
Screw the chief. I don’t care about him. Tell your officers to not enforce the law somewhere else, if Dennys hurt you’d feelings.

Know this Denny’s and I need to remind myself to write you directly, I will not ever eat at any of your stores again.
I don’t care if this was a rogue franchisee. You are FUp’s and FK’d up in the head.
You ain’t right morally or spiritually.
Drinking again? Police have legal authority to carry their weapons anywhere while on duty, and with a CCP, anywhere, ibid, ipso facto and ad infinitum.
I’d rather have a group of police officers with guns in a Denny’s than have an unarmed group of police officers in a Denny’s. Robbers like Denny’s. Armed cops don’t like robbers. Armed cops capture or kill armed robbers. People can eat in peace.
A piece of pie for desert, garcon!
