PARRY SOUND, Ont. Fresh charges have been laid after police say a northern Ontario man was hit in the face and had his package of wild game sausages stolen.
Provincial police in Parry Sound say the man picked up the sausages Dec. 30 at a wild game dinner at the local community centre before making his way over to a Don Cherrys Sports Grill for a drink.
They say that while later walking home the man was followed and attacked by another man who had also been at the restaurant, with the packaged meat allegedly stolen during the altercation.

I don’t condone it, but I understand it.
EVERY 20-something journalist in North America would kill to be associated with this opening line!
Northern Ontario man beaten for his package of sausages
LOL!!!....
Were those sausages halal?
From my cold, dead fingers!
Incidentally, I'd like to know what twisted thinking places Parry Sound in northern Ontario. It's a few miles more southerly than Ottawa.
Is there any sort of monument to Bobby Orr in Parry Sound?
“Incidentally, I’d like to know what twisted thinking places Parry Sound in northern Ontario. It’s a few miles more southerly than Ottawa.”
That would be centre-of-the-universe Trawnna-type twisted thinking.
There is no cure for it - even moving somewhere else doesn’t help the truly Torontonian.
Probably the same thinking that places anywhere in New York outside of NYC and Long Island as "Upstate."
Package? Sausages? As in more than one?
I’m already in enough trouble as it is. No further comments on this subject from me.
Northern Ontario starts at Steeles Avenue :-p
Finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!
A subject close to my heart. I can understand assault or even death when it comes to not just any sausage, but sausage that can be BBQ’d. We’re talkin’ the big boys, here. As soon as I read “Ontario” two things came to mind. Firstly, there’s a guy in Alliston ON who makes maple/blueberry and maple/raspberry sausages. He puts real maple syrup and fresh fruits into the sausage meat. Unbelievably good. Then there’s a guy just north of Peterborough ON who makes apple sausages and something called “Texas” sausages. A few secret ingredients, but I found out the main one is cumin. A little spicy, but after BBQing one and eating it you cannot have a bad day.
Thanks Squawk 8888 for the diversion. We can all sit and talk politics all day, but now and then we have to talk about the real world. My real world includes BBQ sausages.
Is that near Barrie? ;)
