A 20-year-old female IDF soldier was shot and seriously injured Wednesday at an army shooting range at the Beit Lid base in the West Bank. . . . . The incident is said to have occurred when another soldier at the range discharged her rifle while it was on the automatic setting and, surprised by the weapons recoil, swerved while still firing, wounding the other soldier.

Gahh - anybody new to full auto needs to be carefully supervised to prevent exactly this outcome.
Some instructor should be in alot trouble, I hope the other soldier will be ok.

No such thing as an accidental shooting. As described, this is gross negligence
Not a very professional group or person. Particularly, if it was a .223. They have a very light recoul.
I guess the IDF have them too.
I wouild guess it was an UZI and they(because of light-weight)do tend to”climb”when on full-auto.
Whoops, sorry, sorry. Bad humor aside, I hope the wounded soldier recovers with no problems.
