Was this gun turned in? 19-year-old shot in buttocks, Jersey City police say

The guns will be held for a short time by the police before they are melted...except for the valuable or unique ones, which will magically disappear before the rest of them go to the smelter.
Such a scam, these buybacks. Do they really think some punk gangbanger is going to turn in that .25 he’s got stuck in his waistband? He can get a hell of a lot more than $50 with it, depending on who he uses it to rob.

More cash for clunkers.
Friends from communist states have sent me pictures of gun shop windows with signs that read:
“Unlike the government, we will pay CA$H for your guns and pay you more than the government ever will”. These signs are working BTW.

I think if you ever had some research group look at each weapon bought via a program in any city....it typically all lines up to be guns that are of a cheap nature...bought twenty to thirty years ago, and left in a garage or basement. Or you have weapons which are in disrepair and the repair costs are such that you just don’t want to mess with it. A gang-banger giving up his weapon? Never...in a thousand years.
Ha ha ha!! No questions asked !! Each of those guns is going to be tested and compared with ballistics from crimes past. When they find a match, the Police will show up at that owner's home. We saw it before.
And there’s, what, 300,000,000 guns in private ownership in the US? Good going guys, only 298,000,880 to go...
You know the Police well. Of course the good guns either go in the department lockers or go home with the officers with new serial numbers. The same thing happens when Police do liquor and drug raids.
That’s about .00006% of the guns in private hands in this country. If that portion of your morning coffee were hydrogen cyanide you wouldnt notice.
LOL 120?
Hell there are probably at least twice that many in the tiny town where I live and there are only about 150 people here.
Not even questions like, "Seriously, only $25.00 for this fine piece?"
120+ is such a large number that it would take days to reach the final accurate count.
Hammers?
(If they collected "over a hundred and twenty guns " but in the prior two programs "collected 1,297 rifles, handguns, and assault weapons" seems to me that it must mean that either the supply of unwanted/broken guns is down, or the street price is up.)

In Lib/Govt speak it is hard.
You can’t turn in a # until it is verified as actually meaning something.
Like during an election, you HAVE to hold off on the big cities votes until the hinterlands are finished.
Easier to manipulate from a LARGE # than several small ones.
This is how you end up with 130% participation with ALL the votes going to the same person.

That is a fact. The police members at the local shooting club often boast of the great finds they get during gun buy-back events.
Every informed person knows that gun buybacks do nothing at all to stem viol;ence and other criminal behavior.
Countless studies have shown this to be a fact.
But it feels good to the leftists and that’s what counts here in Bizarro-World.
The punk will turn in the rusty old revolver or the single shot shotgun with a 36” barrel that he stole from some old white couple. He’ll keep the ‘special’ and any other Ghetto Gun he steals.
Frankly, I’m glad that the valuable or unique firearms would be saved from being melted down. I just wish *I* had a chance at aquiring some at $100 to $150 apiece.
Voluntary gun buy backs are always a good thing. They give Leftists a false sense that something important is being done. They also take guns out of the hands of stupid people. Let’s face it, the only people selling guns to the government are squishy moderates, rinos, and liberals.
