Boehner Coup Attempt Larger Than First Thought
Roll Call ^

Posted on 01/06/2013 6:47:48 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

A concerted effort to unseat Speaker John A. Boehner was under way the day of his re-election to the position, but participants called it off 30 minutes before the House floor vote, CQ Roll Call has learned.

A group of disaffected conservatives had agreed to vote against the Ohio lawmaker if they could get at least 25 members to join the effort. But one member, whose identity could not be verified, rescinded his or her participation the morning of the vote, leaving the group one person short of its self-imposed 25-member threshold. Only 17 votes against Boehner were required to force a second ballot, but the group wanted to have insurance.

If you're not willing to take a risk to oust Boehner; what are you willing to take a risk for? It seems GOP members 1st priority is always self-preservation. It is always themselves first, country second. Just think if our military members had that mentality.

It's sad conservatives don't have their version of young radicals who grow up to become active in government. Just once, I'd love to vote for a Republican who, during his college years, spent time in jail for setting fire to the Dept. of Education building.

I don’t believe any of this. if true then why did nine people vote for six different alternative candidates? if there was a plan then there would have been an agreed upon alternative candidate who agreed to run against Boehner. And the “renegades” who didn’t care about the 25 person rule would have coalesced around someone

There is zero evidence of any serious challenge to Boehner. Forget Boehner. He rules over the RINOs. Until we have at least 30 conservative House members willing to get things done we have nothing.

If 25 people voted against Bonehead, anp Pelosi got all her votes, would she be speaker? Or was the vote inside the caucus?

To become Speaker, you need to get a majority: 435/2 + 1.

So Pelosi would have been locked out on any second or third vote.

I think “somebody” is trying to become an insider, and thus get more power/publicity/bragging rights later.

Those who voted symbolically against Bohner are mice, I call them the Fwighten Wabbit caucus.

Bohner was going to get voted back anyway. You know why?
Because not one of these mice was willing to stand up and announce a ran against him.
You know why? Because none of them want that job.

I been posting for weeks here a challenge to get one of these mice to run for Speaker, but No its way too easy for them to sit back and vote their meaningless Nos and get on FNC and brag about it.

So what if the scared little mice got enough votes together 25 to hold off Bohner taking over till another vote? Another symbolic No that did nothing?

You (reader) should have been on the phone telling Lou Gohmert TX or the others to run.

We are stuck with Bohner because no one wants that job,

I dont know if he did or not..

If he did not vote against Boehner he wont get any vote from me for reelection...

we need to vote out the riff raff RINO wimps who caved on this...

So that's all you demand of your representatives is these endless symbolic votes that do nothing?
No one would step up and run against him so the vote was meaningless. Just like most of their votes.

Since the NONE of Fwightened Wabbits who voted against him would step up to run against him, they could have got rid of him for good by just voting for Pelosi. there ya go.

But voting for West, Palin, Rush, or even Mickey-Mouse as speaker is just silliness. Obama will NEVER lose with opponents like those why do that.

I know Bohner is weak, but no one wants his job,

RE :”symbolic or not...”

Well I have had it, we had two years of symbolic votes, 33 repeals of O care, and what did it buy us?
O was re-elected and he picked up seats in House and Senate.
Symbolic votes against Bohner not even intended to replace him is the same.

At some point you should ask yourself if all these votes that do nothing are just intended to sucker us. I mean they are safe.

The Fwightened wabbits will never beat O, I don't even think that is their goal.

With wee testicles made out of brass,

And lightning shot out of their ass.
