NASA Selling Off Launchpads, Runways At Kennedy Center
Breitbart ^ | 1/7/12 | staff

Posted on 01/07/2013 6:11:50 PM PST by Nachum

From The Orlando Sentinel: That has prompted NASA to advertise a long list of KSC facilities and equipment as available for use, lease or, in some cases, outright purchase by the right business. Among them: Launch Pad 39A, where shuttles were launched; space in the Vehicle Assembly Building, the iconic 526-foot-tall structure first used to assemble Saturn V-Apollo rockets; the Orbiter Processing Facilities, essentially huge garages where the shuttles were maintained; Hangar N and its high-tech test equipment; the launch-control center; and various other buildings and chunks of undeveloped property. A lot of the stuff needs to be transferred by the end of 2013, when federal maintenance money will run out. When it does, machinery will start to rust, and buildings will deteriorate in the harsh coastal-marsh environment of Cape Canaveral.

I know I may get shot for this, by the more nostalgic members, but it’s probably for the best that NASA be shut down. Like all government bureaucracies, it has stifled progress.

Nasa quit going to the moon in 1973, and has maintained a low orbit presence since. If NASA were allowed to continue, that would probably be as far as it would go.

Since private space exploration has taken off, they’ve designed space suits that can help somebody fall from space, in the event of needing an emergency escape. The privateers have designed several ships that replace the space shuttle, and they have plans to colonize the moon and Mars.

What has NASA done, I, the last twenty years that represent real progress?

NASA’s budget was less than 20 billion a year.

How could that compete with bankers and
prostitutes of/in Congress that need 800 billion
to 9 trillion a year of taxpayers’ money for
Sharia and their own pockets.

Well... you would have to have a very large farm, because that crawler is big.

I remember reading that the first time they tried to move it, the bearings squeezed out like toothpaste.

After a complete redesign and rebuild, they moved out onto the specially designed roadway, into which the crawler sunk up to it's axles. It's like a football field on wheels.

But won’t the muslims start running to the stars now? They’re so much more advanced than the West. More BS to come. Such a tragedy.

“Houston, We have a problem”

"Houston? Houston? Come in, Houston!"

"You have reached the former home of NASA in Houston. We're sorry, but this facility has been closed. For Russian launches, press 1. For Chinese launches, press 2. For a speech by president obama, press 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. For all other questions, please hang up."

"Hi there! This is president obama. Under my plan, we are going to destroy NASA and grind up all the launch pads to use as fill in all of our new highways and bridges!"

*****

What a shame. Makes a guy just about want to cry. Or smash a certain mouth.

Some pics from Russian space equipment shows how it's going to look:

These pictures of a rusting Soviet rocket motor factory taken by the adventurous young lady shown above have set the Internet abuzz. The explorer, named Lana, broke into the Energomash plant oustide Moscow and broke in, traipsing all over the place. As Animal NY points out, Russian officials are not pleased. Lana’s website posted threatening letters from the government telling her “not make [her] situation worse.”

So then basically it appears that Obama is scrapping out, selling off the Space Program. Damaging it enough that we will need to dump a horrendous amount of money that we don’t have, won’t have for a long time to rebuild even the basic foundation that was that program.

The Russians, and the Chinese will now take the lead in space.

Obama is doing to us what Ronald Reagan did to the Soviet Union. Bankrupting this country.

“But the mooslums feel pretty good about their contributions to numbers and science and stuff....so who cares? //sarc”

The only “numbers” that the mooslums have been working on for centuries are their IO’s. Procreating with your sister or your first cousin will do that! The “encounters” with goats don’t matter because they have not yet figured out that they can’t produce an “offspring” by that means. I guess once your IQ gets down to single digits, “all reason” is lost.
