“The company has announced that all non-management positions will have their hours reduced to 28 a week.”
They’re omitting the second part of this; “management positions” will have their hours increased to 58 hours per week. GW Bush’s overhaul of the “exempt” and “non-exempt” employee issue led up to this; overtime pay will be a thing of the past, while overtime work is in everybody’s future.
That existed long before GW, I got to see it 1st hand w/ my team leaders and managers back in Conn in the early 90's.....
Farm labor goes up to 54 hours a week before the Corporate Farms pay overtime; hence you work 12 consecutive days with two off and repeat until you find work elsewhere:)
