Yes but will those neo-RINOs in the Senate stop him or is this just talk?

Hagel is also a Progressive and a big believer in a National ID card system.
If he gets appointed, look for the Defense Department to Implement a very nosy system for all those in Service, using the VA or working for or with the Military.

This may be cold comfort, but all we need to do is pick up some seats in 2014 and hold the House. And the Party not in control of the White House usually does well. After the 2014 election Obama is a total lame duck — and he knows it — which is why he’s going gangbusters right now.

Barney Frank and Lindsey Graham will never forgive Hagel for his “slurs” against homoseexuals.

Everything Obama does and says is calculated to infuriate, divide and dishearten the opposition. He is the most ideologically and personally partisan President America has ever had. Period.

“When will this g#* damn temper tantrum end?”

The best treatment for a child having a tantrum? Say “no” and then ignore. Don’t scold. Just say “no” on Hagel and then say “no” on raising more taxes in 2 months. Resume conversation when the tantrum has ended.

Could have been much worse. Complaining about Hagel is nitpicking, but that is what the GOP would rather do than say NO TO ANOTHER DEBT CEILING HIKE.

RE :”Barney Frank and Lindsey Graham will never forgive Hagel for his “slurs” against homoseexuals.”

Fwank has, he has come out now and said he will support him simply because Senate Rs are opposing him, although Franks not in the Senate and cant vote on it.

This one I am just watching as entertainment as I dont like McCain or Graham either.

Remember the first 4 years when Zer0 just kept going after more and more and more - to the point people got burned-out fighting all of it. These nominations, amnesty, gun control, more fiscal cliffing soon, etc.......Watch the other hand while you’re slapping this one away.

Ta-Da. Someone gets it.

If we stretch out the issues on the SecDef and CIA director, the rest of the agenda in Congress then gets stalled as we get into the debt ceiling talks.

Bronco Bama was never about leadership. He has ALWAYS been part of the demolition crew sent in to take down America, and since being on the outside had not been particularly successful in the past, the job is now being done from within.

The Soviets are no longer a credible enemy for this take-down, but the terroristic Islamic jihadists are. What better way to subvert the American ideal, than to send in a sympathizer, who will deny any serious attempts to squelch the growing power of the worldwide Islamic Caliphate, and at the same time, so seriously sap and erode the ability of the US military to suppress the spread of this tyranny?

It is not in the best interests of anybody, anywhere, to support tyranny, in any form. But for a short-term deal, supporting the growth and spread of tyranny is highly rewarding for a very few. The physical and psychological rush of holding power is an overpowering allurement, almost an aphrodisiac, and tends to destroy good and rational judgment.

The American ideal of freedom and justice for all was not an idle wish, it came into being for the very pragmatic reason, in that the greatest number of people are directly benefited. For those who were somehow left out of the general good, the means to reach out and assist them was made far more abundantly available, through funding for charitable works as a part of the surplus generated by the exercise of this freedom and justice.

Freedom and justice are inextricably bound up with capitalism, the economic engine based on taking what was relatively useless (a limb of a tree fallen to the ground) and turning it into a useful tool that could grub out a hole in the ground, for a creature which had pitifully poor digging claws, so that a shelter may be made. From this shelter, it became possible to venture out daily, and acquire the basic needs of life (food, water, a mate, and items to provide greater comfort), sometimes in such quantity, that by exchanging by barter with another such poor relatively defenseless creature, both could come into possession of items that provided a mutual benefit.

Because this creature was unusally inquisitive, the discovery of fire, and the very transformative effects of control of fire, became a lever to really very much greater accomplishment and accumulations of food, water, mates and items of comfort. In a word, prospering and living well.

Reward piled upon reward managed to awaken a kind of hunger, and the accumulations continued to pile up, becoming the first store of capital goods, which were turned into still more goods, benefiting all the individuals in this particular group, and also allowing specialization into particular trades within that community. Thus, one who had a lot of some goods could exchange with another who had a need for these goods, and vice versa.

It took a few thousand years, and the busting of a few heads along the way, but the concept of capitalism, and of trading those things in surplus for the the things one had need of, was well founded and accepted as the most efficient way to both create and distribute wealth.

But there have always been predator types in any community, who through avarice or desire to exercise inordinate power over the acts of others, began to seize the produced goods, and distribute them in such manner that ever greater power accrued to the predator, in an exercise of capricious tyranny.

Eventually these predator types are struck down, and the more practical application of the principles of capitalism are reasserted, simply because it works better than the other way.

And the early days of the republic known as “The United States of America”, this was raised to one of the highest levels the world has ever known, making that republic the major source and inspiration for a level of living unrivalled in world history.

And now they want to kick this all to pieces? For what?

Yep....... you are soooo correct. The Won and his evil “don't let a crisis go to waste” bunch including Valerie Jarrett, Axelrod and all the other zippy buddies are busy plotting and planning ways to pass their socialist agenda, such as more funding for all his pet projects, wind energy, solar, hybrid cars, banking, planned parenthood and on and on and on. Gun control is now behind the scenes.

Can anyone see the big picture here? The left keeps 20 balls bouncing all at once, with the backing of the corrupt fake media and watches as the “right” fails to keep up. My 2 cents.

Gun control. Read history folks - this is how dictators begin - by disarming the public. Crooks do NOT follow laws. Gun Free Zones are a total joke. Don't put MY grandchildren in a gun free zone. It's like a HUGE billboard inviting the bad people! BTW, what ever happened to Ft. Hood. Hhhhmmmmm...... workplace violence and the GOP says nothing. Crisis for the left has NOT gone to waste.
