And I'm sorry, but "diversity" is not what law enforcement should be about. Putting the most qualified person in a position should be.
Can we imagine "diversity" being demanded on sports teams?
"Well, we have a white guy at QB. Our running back is black. The fullback is Asian, and our center is a homosexual. The tackles are an American Indian female and a Jewish college graduate. Our guards are an Arab transgender and a Hispanic vegan. The kicker is a Japanese Catholic. We are diverse! Our record is 0-16."
Let’s get down to basics. What every American wants from his local law enforcement....is control over crime. The whole Sheriff’s force could be all women and I wouldn’t care....if they simply lessen crime and kept the community safe. The minute you play this ‘change-game’, and your priority is someone’s sexual orientation, color, ethnic group or vegetarian status...it’s only a TV show in making for your local cops.
Florida news. Don’t know if the weekly Saturday Tea Party protest still goes on, but my guess is they may have to stand firm in the face of some unfriendly law enforcement.
Finally, a sheriff more concerned with “diversity” than plain old law enforcement. /s

Reminds me again how happy I am to have left that area. In Polk County, we just elected for his 3rd term, a REAL sheriff, Grady Judd. This guy is fantastic. No BS allowed here.

When I first moved to Polk County, I was getting an oil change and the coverage of the shooting/murder of a convenience store clerk was on the TV news in the waiting room. Grady Judd came on and said to the camera, "To the perpetrator of this crime: You cannot run far enough or fast enough. We will find you."
An older couple in the room both said, "Whoever shot that man has done gone and pissed off Sheriff Grady. That ain't a good thing to do in Polk County. If he knows what's good for him, he will give himself up."
two days later, the guy gave himself up.
This was also shortly after Deputy Sheriff Matt Williams and his K-9 partner Diogi were killed in a rutine traffic stop and the perpetrator in that was hunted down and shot over a hundred times by Polk County officers. Grady Judd's comment on why he was shot so many times: "We ran out of bullets."
What every American wants from his local law enforcement....is control over crime. ..I disagree. Control over the people who COMMIT crimes. Usually you have 2% of the people in any subset who commit 92% of the crimes within that subset. Eliminate that 2% and your crime rate falls, dramatically.
When Colin Ferguson was not charged with a hate crime they ceased to exist for me.
So the show “police woman of Broward” is now “”gay police people of Broward” ?
I have had the pleasure of hearing our Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd speak to our local 912 group in Winter Haven. I asked about our crime rates in Polk and he said we were at a 40 year low on violent crime and it is almost the lowest since they started keeping stats. He didn’t take full credit for the low crime but implied CCW was also responsible.
Regarding the 110 shots fired at Matt Williams and Deeogi’s killer, Grady was on the phone with FOX News at the time and the audio was recorded. I keep the link on my homepage. Scroll about a third of the way down to find it.
The greatest threat to life in Florida is not hurricanes, the greatest threat is the horde of northern liberals filtering down here. I noticed recently here in Nassau County (most northeastern cty in Florida) that two of the local vocal libs, and dems, moved here from NJ and NYC. One was somekind of NJ pol, the other a writer for the Times. To me, these are the faces of the enemy. The guy from NJ is now on a “gun control” (gun ban) binge; the other is pushing for support for legislation to combat “global warming” (or climate change due to whatever yesterday’s weather supports). They seem oblivious to the notion that most of us here don’t support their causes and would rather they went back home where they would seemingly be happier. Worse, they are joined every day by other interlopers increasing their cadre of malcontents. I foresee the day when our local mores will be out voted by these scoundrels who foul every nest they land upon.
Him being a Democrat, and given the Democrat’s penchant for blatant hypocrisy and lying, which is even pointed out in the article, at least he was straightforward in saying how in intended to foul up the BSO.

This means that he would take all the authority from subordinates, like a mob boss, so that everyone is working for him directly, at his whim.

This follows the Democrat idea that elected office is solely to reward friends and punish enemies. So he will surround himself with toadies, and that divisions fight each other for his support.
“In December, his transition team sent emails to 28 high-ranking employees telling them they would be out once Israel took over.” Thus the favoritism begins with the purge of those he considers his enemies.
“Israel’s senior command staff includes many who played key roles in his campaign.” Favoritism.
“Israel advised deputies to be unafraid of risks or criticism...” Shoot your mouths off now, so you can be identified as an enemy and fired.
“He promised a robust community outreach department that would seek to forge partnerships with churches, community groups, schools and residents.” Public-private partnerships, an inherent part of fascist economics, to insure control over churches, community groups, schools and residents.
“Israel also invoked the school massacre at Newtown, Conn...”I will do everything I can to keep assault weapons out of Broward County...”
Thus he clearly backs gun control according to the agenda.
“...he will find and eliminate waste in the agency by consolidating services...” And he wasn’t kidding when he ‘joked’ that he wanted more money. They always want more money. “...he joked with the mostly Democratic county commissioners in attendance to increase his annual budget...”
So the locals have just voted in a term for corruption, mismanagement, unfairness, higher taxes, oppression, and other villainy. You can’t always get what you want, but you find sometimes, you get what you deserve.
That’s my Sheriff!
While I’ve never met him, I do see him out and about.
I like that. I even like that he is often on the local news.
From what I gather via friends of friends who work for him, he is both highly respected and generally feared by his subordinates.
That’s a winning combination for a locally elected official, IMHO.
I doubt the feds would get any support if they try to confiscate weapons around here.
Nice Homepage by the way!!!! I was going to the 912 in Lakeland but haven’t been in awhile. Really need to touch base again with them. Changed jobs and it is really difficult making the meetings, but really enjoyed the people.
