The Texas state comptroller estimated Texas will generate $96.2 billion in revenue for the 2014-2015 fiscal cycle and reported Texas collected $8.8 billion more in revenue than expected during the last fiscal year. When unemployment in Texas was at its highest in a decade and the state government faced a $27 billion shortfall in 2011, legislators wrote what was then described as a cut-to-the-bone budget.
And it worked.
According to the Associated Press, unemployment now is at a four-year low of 6.2 percent, sales tax receipts are skyrocketing and money is pouring into state coffers behind a new energy boom.

Will the leftist blue states take a lesson? Naw-they will just push their tax and spend claptrap and claim it helps the poor and underpriveleged while their states sink further into debt. Pure lunacy but hey, its the new, old abnormal.
Works every time. Unlike socialism, which fails every time.
Unfortunately, we have too many liberal here now, and they are already braying that we have to spend this money and more. I hope there are still enough sane people here to keep them in check!

July 2009 hit a low of 1.062 Million Barrels per Day (MMBPD)
Jan 2010 = 1.098 MMBPD
Dec 2010 = 1.284 MMBPD
Oct 2012 - 2.100 MMBPD

Share the Wealth ideas always end up implementing Share the Poverty realities.
Not for the GOPe.
If Perry was the nominee. He would have won it in a walk.
Perhaps. But I think this is just another case of White America's Racial Hatred Towards a Black Man in the White House.
Alternatively, it could simply be an example of The Rising Tide of Racism in America(trademark).
Take your pick....
Actually there was some people here who didn’t like for some reason...
Gosh. Now we have a surplus. What’ll we spend it on? (organ music!)
