Everyone I know in MA who got the flu shot got the flu. I don’t know anyone who got the flu without getting that shot.

From what I’ve heard from friends, if they want to see a doctor within their lifetimes, they will probably travel to New Hampshire or Vermont and pay (cash, check or credit card) some doctor who used to practice in Mass. for a timely office visit. I’m not certain about all doctors there, but some charge an out-of-state fee to use the practice. Gotta love that free health care thingy!
When I called to see if I could visit, he told me all of them had the flu. Some were at home, and him and two others were in work with the flu. So I stayed away.
He said he had the flu for 13 days and when he got better he was going to get a flu shot because the flu strain he has is different from the flu shot strain, and he doesn't want to take a chance of getting that strain of flu.
- With so many people getting preventative flu shots in the Boston area, I wonder how we could have such an epidemic.
Whether to get a flu shot or not , to me is not an easy decision.

I spoke to my sister down in Alabama this morning and she tells me that the hospitals in the Birmingham area are filling their beds with flu patients. My sis and her husband—both elderly like the OP—won’t even go to church and most other places because of fears of contracting the flu.
Granted, those making the guesses are educated in the science but the chances of hitting the nail on the head is still a long shot.
It would appear, what with all of the headlines regarding the massive amount of folks with influenza this year, the flu shot is irrelevant.
Of course, one thing to take into account is how lax in personal hygiene people are thinking that they don't need to take extra precaution, they've had their flu shot so they through caution to the wind. This reminds me of people that drive like idiots thinking that they are protected with seat belts and air bags!
Everyone in my family had the flu shot in mid to late October, and nevertheless we all had flu-like symptoms beginning around New Year’s.
All coming out of it, some swifter than others.
Already had it. About 8 straight hours of puking every 5 to 15 minutes. Tried to get a little green tea and stuff down, but, that came up within a couple minutes of drinking it. So, 8 hours of puking. The wife had it coming out the other end.
Now, I got the after effects..cold like symptoms.
Got it while sitting on a plane in Colorado Springs the Friday before Christmas and what comes on the plane? A couple with their kid who had his head stuck into a barf bag. She had a real red dripping nose. I turned to the guy next to me and said that wasnt it great that they cared to share their misery? I bet every single one that was on the plane that day got it thanks to those selfless bastards. Got to get to Granny and Grampas house you know..that way they can share it with them to and see if they can do them in.

We will never know if the elderly were killed by Obamacare are. the flu.
This is NOT pneumonia, but some kind of potentially deadly bronchial virus and it is VERY resilient. I have a friend who also has the exact same thing. He had gone through the exact same initial ineffective treatment and had a relapse. He is on the exact same medical treatment I am on and is only now starting to recover after three weeks.
Could this be another non-coincidental event caused by Obamas thugs at HHS?
