General Assembly

Proposed Bill No. 122

January Session, 2013

LCO No. 543

Referred to Committee on JUDICIARY

Introduced by:

SEN. MEYER, 12th Dist.

Statement of Purpose:

To reduce the use of guns for criminal purposes.

I received a notice about this bill in an e-mail. This guy Meyer is truly evil. I am surprised he didn't picked to take over the EPA because he's an expert at using the state's DEEP to destroy people and businesses.

Here is a link to the demon's web site.

I don’t understand. Why would police and military be excepted? Either we have equal protection under the law or we don’t.

Do you have a line to the stats regarding people shot by family members? I have had several people tell me that more people are killed with guns by family members than all others.

I propose all state politicians security from the governor on down to the guards in the capitol only be limited to one shot. You want this bill, then no exemptions. Let Dannel get by with 1 shot for his security team. It’s not like they need “assault weapons” to shoot a deer.

If you hunt for sport, there is nothing more sporting than a single shot.

In a totalitarian state criminals are considered to be allies of the State and they help to keep the citizenry terrorized. Criminals are not dangerous to the State. People who would consider their children's futures are dangerous to the State. In communist countries political infractions were/are considered much more serious than simple property personal crimes. Criminals were sent into the gulags, not actually as punishment for their crimes, but to terrorize and control the "politicals," reducing the need for trained guards.

Physical self defense becomes criminal and a much more serious offense than robbery or murder because it is an offense against a class allied with the State. Except, of course, when these things involve members of the ruling group or their agents.

hmmm....
If you’re armed for self-defense, and the first shot doesn’t stop the invader, you doomed.

If you outlaw useful guns, you create a black-market with less control, untaxed, expensive guns while creating more criminals and filling prisons more.

I’d never hear the term assault rifle until some liberal fool coined the term 30 some years ago to make centerfire firearms sound more dangerout. We still don’t have an agreed upon definition of what one is, other than it’s black and scary.

The more of these ridiculous proposals submitted, the less likely anything will be passed.

I agree! When I saw what the proposal was, I immediately thought it was so ridiculous that it wouldn't go anywhere.

We have so many restrictions now that they can't make more that aren't just as stupid as this.... I hope.

So what is the opposite of an assault rifle?
Is it a defense rifle?
Does a defense rifle need to be more powerful than an assault rifle to be successful?

Remember that most murderers and murder victims have criminal histories. Criminals have families and criminal associates and gang members that they know.

It appears that family members make up about 10% of the total murders.

Remember, even a great number of those are committed by people with a long criminal history.

A lot of kids have committed suicide by info and slurs posted online by their peers.

The internet is obviously a 1st amendment assault weapon that the founders never could envision back then. So we need to limit it to only what was available back then.

Instead of wasting our time with one round, let’s just make guns that require no ammo. This way we can just throw the gun at our targets like Hollywood shows in movies! (You remember, after the gun is shot and there is no more ammo, the gun holder usually just throws the gun at whomever he was shooting)

If you live in New England, and you can move; do it.

If they're true conservatives we'll take em in the midwest. Good things are happening here and we could use all the help we can get to keep the momentum.
