Hey, we’re talking FR here
The looney left and guns. I wouldn’t be surprised if guns were present every single day at my grade school and Jr High. I know for a fact they were at my high school. Just look at those trucks with racks in the parking lot. Hard to have a gun club without them.
Liberals own all of the nuts with guns crap. Bunch of damn control freaks that are dumber than a box of rocks.
As Mr. Data said “AH! humor”. ;)
These idiots can’t even protect our border what makes them think they can protect schools?
Just another way to get the feds even more entrenched into our lives and to steal more tax money.
Screw them!
AND another thing. Are the kids also going to be secure on the way to and from the schools?
Some 480,000 school buses carry 25 million children more than half of Americas schoolchildren each day, making the school bus industry the largest form of mass transit in the United States. They do this twice a day.
Just how many volunteers does the federal government think it can enlist, train and keep trained. Simple background checks alone would take an army to preform and cost a fortune..
There are over 30 million privately own guns within the U.S. LOL... yet we have a government that says they can’t roundup 12 million illegal aliens-—
The politicians, all fools, are looking for the answers in all of the wrong places. If it were not for the politics-incompetent and corrupt cowards, and the gun grabbing libs, security problems could have a chance of being resolved.
The government is simply taking the advantage of the moment in an attempt to unarm America. They are crazy to think that a very large number of us will give up our of defense tools and our 230+ years of constitutional rights, just to satisfy Obama and the libs wet dream.
Other than entering into an agreement with a state, as to what shall be “military grade” weapons, the federal government has no Constitutional power in this matter.
Only the states and the people who are citizens-and-residents therein, have the rights, let alone the power, and indeed, are best at, determining the security of their children in schools.
It’s a states rights issue, and the federal government should attend to its own problem of NOT HAVING MONEY because it’s been over-spending and is in debt.
If the people of a community want to build up security around, and in, their schools, it is their right, their business, their responsibility ... because the kids are theirs.
NOBODY BELONGS TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT - yeah, news to Obama.
The Federal Government (AND Unions) have no business whatsoever being involved in local schools, period.
Yes but they CAN’T be armed! Let’s get THAT straight!
Thanks but no thanks -the federal government needs to be gutted not expanded.
“Would those volunteers be liable if something bad happens?”
Interesting point. Even if we don’t go the volunteer route and something bad happens, the lawyers will still find somebody to be liable.
and you know there’s going to be some parent that will want to sue somebody for something...who would volunteer for that?
I believe it may go a bit further...The TSA under the qauthority and direction of the DHS will be what will really be put into play here...It’ll be nationwide, and the response teams will be SWAT trained and mobile to react to any future incidents in and around the schools...Encompassing nieghborhoods, and communities around these institutions...
Their authority will be absolute, and I would not be surprised that an exclusion zone surrounding facilities will be grounds for random checkpoints if you choose to transit the area for ANY reason, refusal of searches will be grounds for arrest and charges filed for non-compliance...
If I were the bad guys, that is what I would do...
Just my opinion...
“...who would volunteer for that?”
Oh, I don’t know...maybe a citizen who might be interested in protecting the lives of the children in their community’s schools.
We’ll see how this goes and have another discussion on it in a year.
Terrible idea, as I said after Wayne LaPierre suggested Federal funding. This is not a Federal issue.
