Dick Morris: Kerry’s Aide Too Friendly to Castro

Dick Morris is spearheading a campaign to stop presumed Secretary of State John Kerry from tapping an “overt Castro sympathizer” to be in charge of U.S.-Cuban policy.

Morris says one of Kerry’s closest confidants is Fulton Armstrong, who has served for years as his assistant for Cuban and Latin American relations on the Senate staff of the Foreign Policy Committee. …

Morris said when John Bolton was up for Ambassador to Cuba, he said there was evidence Castro was amassing biological weapons for use against the U.S. and moved to declassify a report about it. “Fulton Armstrong opposed that and largely killed the effort to declassify it, and was heavily involved in rejecting Bolton’s nomination to be an ambassador,” Morris said.

Morris said the “most damning episode” surrounding Armstrong occurred in 1998, when he collaborated with Cuba analyst Anna Belen Montes on a report about the military implications of Castro’s Cuba. The report stated that Cuba no longer posed a security threat to the U.S. and American policy toward Cuba should be changed.

Dick, please shut up and go away. This is our chance here in MA to finally get rid of this stinking turd. It’s out last chance! Go back to obscurity where you belong (after the last election).

You referring to Kerry? Then having him be SecState isn’t exactly getting rid of him (it’s giving him more power than he’s ever had, and he’s proven that he can’t be trusted with the power he’s possessed up until now), and it’s really bad for MA if Barney Frank gets that seat even temporarily.

You didn’t respond to the article. Kerry would be a disaster as Secretary of State. At heart, he is simply anti-American.

Kerry will be a total disaster as Sec of State. There is a good reason why our family has chosen to live in fly-over country. Elections have consequences.

Why anyone would bother to listen to Dick (lets sell more books) Morris after his election debacle is beyond me.

I have to presume Morris has leveraged the perception of his credibility into a fat retirement what with all his books (like Condi v Hillary) and TV appearances. He ought to just shut up and go away.

One still has to show discretion before shooting the messenger. If Morris is wrong about Fulton Armstrong, then that’s cause for shutting him up indeed. But if this is the truth about Fulton Armstrong, I wouldn’t care if it were Nancy Pelosi herself bringing this bit of news.

Morris :”There is zero % chance that Obama will beat Romney”

Zero is a pretty round number Dick.

Morris only has to be smarter than the suckers who believe him, which is ....sell them a bridge..

Well that is true - we will have to wait and see.

I suppose in Dick’s defense - a lot of people were wrong about the election - I know I was. I still can’t believe it.

Morris said when John Bolton was up for Ambassador to Cuba,....

Bolton is probably one of the brightest lamps in D.C. when it comes to foreign policy. JMHO.

Foreign policy is formulated at the White House, not the State Department. The State Department just carries out Obama's policies. Therefore whatever clown Obama appoints is going to be doing pretty much the same thing. At least with Kerry we get a shot a taking a Senate seat away from the Democrats.
