Grassley suggests openness to gun control idea
CNN ^ | January 11, 2013 | Gregory Wallace

Sen. Chuck Grassley, a conservative Republican from Iowa, suggested Friday he may be open to a limited form of gun control - restricting the size of gun magazines - if that legislation does not violate the Constitutional protection of gun rights.

"I think that's a whole different issue and it can maybe be dealt with without violating the Second Amendment, but I want to see the legislation," Grassley told Iowa Public Television in an interview Friday.

But he reaffirmed his opposition to reinstating the assault weapons ban that Congress passed in 1994.

Asked if he would support limiting the capacity of gun magazines, Grassley further qualified his remark.

"I would not say at this point because Senator [Dianne] Feinstein has said her bill is going to be much different than the law she got passed in 1994 and I think I'd better wait 'til I see the legislation," he said...

Yeah, but per bloomers, only good for 3 days worth in nyc. You’ll just have to suffer. The empirical mayor has spoken. What a miserable POS that clown is. But with his kazillions at least he’s a comfortable miserable POS.

Stop the radical left wing extremists.

More like the Nazi-rat GOP if you ask me. Why use Nazi propaganda invented for justifying the killing of Jews? Especially since the modern propaganda is all now casting gunowners and TEA as the modern version of “judenrats”.

I don't think your understanding and definition of 'Judenrat' is the same as mine.

The Judenrat were Jews and undesirables who were willing to serve the Nazis and help them round up, destroy and burn their fellow Jews in the hopes that doing so, would help them survive - even perhaps have a seat in governing those the Nazis had subjugated.

Some felt they had no choice to but to go along with the seig-heiling hordes the Nazis had stoked into supporting them and their policies in order to save their own skins. Most had guns to their heads.

The GOP today IS our Judenrat.. They are willing to serve the MarxoFascists and help them round up, destroy and burn Conservatives in their own party in the hopes that doing so will help their party survive - and have a seat in governing alongside the MarxoFascists, who have subjugated us.

Some feel they have no choice but to go along with the Government-worshipping hordes Obama have stoked into supporting them and their policies in order to save their own political skins.

Many feel they have a media-gun to their heads - so they will appease in order to be 'liked' by the Ruling Class.

Anybody starts looking to give even one little inch on the second amendment matter should be considered the enemy, and targeted for elimination from the Congress.

I don’t care about his work with Fast & Furious as it hasn’t gone anywhere, and is starting to look like it was all showtime anyway.

There’s a reason for everything, but no reason for surrender other than hopelessness, and we ain’t there yet.

Iowa has "No Provision" for a Right to Keep and Bear Arms in their state constitution.

The Left is focusing on the 6 states that have no gun rights provision in their state constituions: New York (Cuomo), California (their entire Commie state legislature), New Jersey (the over-eager Dem legislators), Iowa (Muhlbauer & Grassley), Maryland (Commieville) & Minnesota.

This is probably to create a stampede among the other states which DO have gun rights provisions.

If the gov’t can limit the capacity of pop bottles, what’s to stop them from limiting the capacity of spring loaded tin cans?

This is just another case of a Republican shooting the party base in the foot.

Tell Sen. Chuck Grassley to GO TO HELL!

"COMPROMISE" is a DIRTY word!
People who study the Bible know that COMPROMISE almost always leads to destruction.

He’d trade your 2A rights for thirty shekels of wind turbines and a ethanol subsidy.

Weasel words.

Now, now. He's just being "reasonable" ..... and noncommittal. In case he has to be flexuous as well, later on.

Hmmmmm, I seem to be describing either a contortionist, or a snake. What's up with that?

And does anyone really think lack of standard capacity magazines would have limited the carnage at Newtown? The kids were sitting ducks with no adult able to shoot back to defend them.

It has NEVER been about those kids. Or Columbine, or Aurora, or Virginia Tech. Ever.

It's about totalism. Total control, total power, total despotism. Sic semper tyrannis!

I’m thinking [Grassley] was promised guaranteed Ethanol/Gasohol protection in exchange for his support of Obama gun control.

That or the inverse. I'd say that is a pretty good guess.

Iowa has "No Provision" for a Right to Keep and Bear Arms in their state constitution.

So what? 2A is prima facie self-binding on the States as well as the federal government, and is bound to the States by 14A as well, very expressly.

I should think they're playing to Democratic voters more than trying out con-law dodges to get around 2A. They will not succeed at that.

The pattern right now is "No Provision" states going batsh*t crazy on gungrabbing:

New York, California, New Jersey (Demmie state legislators foaming at the mouth to get Christie to DO SOMETHING!!!), Iowa (the other Demmie whackjob state legislator), Maryland (we'll get something hilarious out of them).

They want a stampede.
