"I don’t want to hear from any political moron who demands conservative purity." Bob Grant
Bob Grant Online ^ | 1.11.2013 | Bob Grant

"Mitt should have picked Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey as his running mate. Christie knows how to hit back. I only hope that by 2016 the GOP is smart enough to vote for Governor Christie. If they don’t pick him, then they might as well forget about being a national party. They can also forget about guys like me.

There will be no point in allowing Hillary Clinton to pull another phony campaign out of her purse. I will be watching my fellow Republicans. And I don’t want to hear from any political moron who demands conservative purity. Those days are long gone. Forget it. And you Republicans also need to forget about identifying yourselves as a certain specific Republican. You don’t see the Democrats bifurcate themselves."

I don’t think Christie is right on several important issues either. But I like the guy. I would have given a paycheck to see him debate Obama.

Christie was bland and a disappointment at the Convention. When he went on one of the late night talk shows and mocked Clint Eastwood’s appearance, he was playing into the lefty’s hands. And please: no more Springsteen!

I thought there might be an outside chance that Romney might be tolerable, so I voted for him. I have no such hopes for Christie.

Someone remind this jackass and all his followers who share his attitude are the people that kept electing compromisers who went ever leftward.

Now that we face the communist in the WH, all ‘we’ have is people that can’t wet their lips fast enough to place on Democrat tail.

The opposite of purity is corruption.

That is a simple fact and no whining by the pussified will change that reality.

Who is your pick for 2016? I know it is early, but I am sure you have given it at least a passing thought. So, elucidate me and others here on who are at top of your list. I know it is not Christie.

My list has McConnell, Scott, Rubio.

Whether one agrees with him on everything or not, Bob Grant is a legend. I remember hearing him on the radio in San Diego out of LA nearly 50 years ago!

Why? What is it with these commentators? Do they not have friends on Facebook? Do they not see the propaganda from the left during the campaign?

No matter how ‘middle of the road’ (read: liberal) the candidate is, he or she will be painted as a drooling religious fundamentalist who seeks to restore life to that of the 1840’s. Blacks on the plantation, women locked up for speaking in public. It is the ultimate in projection: this is how the left would treat the world if they ever could fully gain control.

I seriously saw posts on facebook with people saying that should Mitt Romney win the presidency, he would immediately outlaw abortion. This of the former governor who made RomneyCare and the $50 abortions. Who made it state law that every pharmacy must, upon demand, and without doctor’s prescription give out ‘morning after’ pills.

The guy with a gay campaign manager who would force gays back into the closet. The man who’d ‘force us back into the dark ages’ who wanted his campaign victory speech to be in the heart of liberal country.

At least run a campaign with someone who can articulate the conservative viewpoint, rather than someone who when even slightly challenged in a campaign debate immediately blurts out that he likes big government mandates, that they supposedly work.

Oh, no, let’s instead stop seeking ideological purity and instead choose someone more liberal. I’m sorry, but I don’t think we had anyone more liberal than Mitt Romney running around last election. I suppose we could have drafted the Huckster, or called up Rudy to the bat, but I’m pretty sure neither of them enacted homosexuals calling themselves married.
