New gun permits require proof of training and both criminal and psychological background checks. Felons and those convicted of drug crimes or domestic violence are barred from permits, as well as those whose mental health issues may have resulted in forced psychiatric commitments.Adam Lanza could have legally purchased firearms (no handguns due to not being 21). He had no criminal felony record. He had not been ajudicated mentally defective, even if he should have been. Many high profile mass shooters did legally purchase their guns.

"The gun that was used in Newtown was sold as a single-shot weapon"?
What is he talking about, a single shot semiauto?

So, is he saying that if you go to a gun show and purchase six guns from six different sellers, you will need to go through six background checks on the same day? That’s just a stupid waste of time and resources clogging up a system which is already a constipated mess. What fools.

Will criminals have to go through a background check before stealing a gun?

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy wants thorough background checks on anyone buying any type of gun in Connecticut... We first need a background check on politicians.

Connecticut already has some of the most infringing anti gun control measures on their lawbooks in the nation.
They are still walking targets for any mass murderer out of liberal hell.

Why should we listen to someone who was not legally elected by the people of Connecticut?

The list of disqualifying reasons will be substantially lengthened, too.
“Well sir, you had eggs for breakfast this morning? I’m afraid we’re going to have to disqualify you.”

I think any time that you go buy a weapon, someone should check," Malloy said. Next up; axes, knives, hammers, nail guns, baseball bats, sticks, stones, bows and arrows...
