It’s not the gun culture, it’s the broken family culture.
A new Justice Department study looking at violent crimes committed against “youth”—defined as Americans from 12 to 17 years of age—discovered that the rate of “serious violent crime” committed against youth by a perpetrator using a firearm dropped 95 percent from 1994 to 2010.
The study—“Violent Crime Against Youth, 1994-2010”–also discovered that American youth who were victims of a serious violent crime in 2010 were six times more likely to have been attacked by a perpetrator wielding a knife than one wielding a gun.
The study, released Dec. 20, also discovered that an American youth was 3.8 times more likely to become the victim of a serious violent crime if he or she lived in a home where the householder was unmarried than if he or she lived with married parents. In 2010, 7.4 out of every 1,000 youth living with married parents became the victims of a serious violent crime. At the same time, 27.8 out of every 1,000 living with an unmarried householder became the victims of a serious violent crime.
We could ban more things or we could look for ways to help keep families together. Banning more things will not help plug a gap created by broken families and absent fathers. Rebuilding families however is proven to fight crime.

Literacy rate of 80 percent, only 20 percent graduate high school and very small percent go to college. Minorities and women did not have equal rights. This will never be in the news because the left wants to destroy the family. Under communism, the state is the only body that is allowed to pass on moral values, so the family must go.
There was a British study done in the 1990s that showed the rate of abuse against children was over 30 times higher in homes where a single-mother was living with a boyfriend who was not the child’s father, than in homes where children lived with both birth parents.
Also, in the statistic quoted in this article, I believe research has also shown that single mothers are less likely to report violence against their child if the “perp” is their live-in boyfriend.
Let’s add homosexual “families” to that as well.
no one is getting married these days, I do a lot more paternity actions than divorces. The destruction of the family is complete. Psychologists are responsible for the “counseling” that demanded self-actualization even at the cost of the marriage and the family and the children paid the price for mom and pop’s inability to keep their pants on.
If banning guns will stop gun violence, why not make divorce illegal as a cure for broken homes? Let’s do it for the children!
