It’s been 2 years since my last phone purchase and upgraded to HTC “One-X-Plus” last Friday.
Amazing technology & aesthetics...and easily surpasses the S3 & iPhone5 at the same price.
I have 2 macs and 1 Win 7 PC.
I have more software and hardware issues with the Macs than the PC, Two hardware failures with the older mac and the 2 month old mac has already been replaced my Apple once, a process that left us without the computer for a week.
The PC has never been in the shop, I know I have a flakey memory module that I should replace but I haven’t gotten around to it.
We had the whole software no longer compatable after upgrade fiasco and my wife uses the PC for software she paid for but which no longer runs on current Mac OS.
As far as PCs slowing down, don’t install itunes, it has crippled every PC I have had the misfortune to intall in on.
Win 8, I don’t care for it, my wife loves it enough to consider buying it instead of Mac for her next upgrade.
Which Otterbox did he get?
Mine has a mil-spec screen guard that’s really tough.
I’ve dropped my phone so many times it’s not funny.
SPECK makes silicone “HumVee” type cases that seriously good, too.
I would have gotten one of those instead of the Otter but they hadn’t made them for iP4 yet.
My old iPhone has been in the SPECK case for 4+ years and looks like brand new when taken out.
Size does matter.
My oldest son got one in Dec, and it’s already convinced me after looking at it. Photos and video can’t even compare to the iPhones. I don’t own a camera since I started using the iPhones, but with the Samsung III - it brings the pics and vids to a whole new world.
Haven’t got a dog in this hunt, I still use an old non-smart phone, but everyone I know who has an iPhone has broken the screen, some more than once.
And I am talking at least 30-50 people, counting co-workers. It is one of many reasons, I don’t want a smart phone of any kind.
That’s just bizarre because I don’t know a soul to whom it’s happened! And not like I’ve not dropped my phone either. And I know more people than you ; ) Just kidding!

Want to know a secret? Lots of people would buy used Caddys for a discount. A couple years old, a lot cheaper, but still a luxurious ride. I've done the same with Macs. Buy them a year or two old, get them at a steep discount, and they're often loaded with software. The last one I got had over $1700 of software I got free, and the computer was about half of what it cost new (fully maxed out Mini server). Only 2 years old, lots of life left. Let others buy new.

The 4G LTE on the 5 is extremely fast. Much faster than the 3,4 and 4s.
We did a side by side test at work with all 4 devices with speedtest.net
In a 4G LTE area, the 5 does 24 Mbps down and 8 Mbps up.
The 4s was about 1/8th as fast at 4 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up.
The 3 was welll, 0.3 Mbps down... :(
Worth the upgrade for the speed increase - if you live in a 4G area. If still no 4G then you will not see a cnange.
