Either the Wal-Mart story was wrong to start with, or the company has decided to change back to their standard policy for ammo sales.

It was probably wrong at the start. Gun owners, in just a few months bought enough weapons and ammo to outfit China and India.
Good luck keeping up with the demand under those conditions.

Good for Walmart.
Kmart caved on ammo and gun sales after Columbine and that
was the end of Kmart.
That and they stopped selling that cool canned bacon. ☺

Truth is, the government bought it all up and there is none in the distribution channels for Walmart to order.

All I know is that our local Walmart had plenty of ammo, and then they didn’t, right after the school shooting and Obama’s anti gun demagoguery.

A story that originated on a blog was wrong? Shocked!

IIRC, the original report was from someone who overheard a clerk attempting to order more and being told by corporate that they were not accepting any more orders for ammo.
Not that they were out, but that they wouldn’t be getting any.

Man I miss cheap ammo and that bacon. Two things I always picked up before I head for the hills for the weekend.

My Wife was doing a search at the WalMart website tonight, and informed me that there were three boxes of 9mm Luger ten miles north of us.
I drove up there to get all three boxes.
They would only allow me to buy two boxes.

Perhaps, but I suspect an unknowledgeable clerk misunderstood what corporate head office stated. I’m in retail and I can tell you, from experience, what cones fro. Corporate is often misunderstood.
It’s good to getvob top of it and hold Wal-Mart accountable nevertheless.

The government doesn’t buy ammo from Wally world.
They get it via contracts with manufacturers.
It takes time to write proposals, find potential suppliers, evaluate them, then award the contract.
Bureaucracy moves s l o o o w l y.
