“I, like many other FReepers, lost ours in a fishing accident. It was a very sad day. We’re still all broken up about it.”

I went fishing a few days back. Decided to polish some of my magazines while out on the ocean. Damn rogue wave knocked all my magazines off the deck.

Bummer.

Well, after a house fire 15 years ago I have never been able to find any trace of several valuable items of mine. There were lots of firemen and neighbors I didn’t recognize milling around.

Seriously.I have no idea who may have taken ,for instance,a couple expensive two-way radios and some tools I have never found.Much was packed from moving and it was just impossible to know what got left behind, what was destroyed in the fire and what walked off.And not insured at the time.

When the rented duplex , of my then young parents , burned circa 1956,helpful people carried away much of my mother’s linens and silverware, which she never saw again.

Easy there, tough guy. I'm just saying that they probably already have a plan for dealing with "boating accidents," and considering that the Bill of Rights is going to be dead, the enforcers will not be saying, "Oh, shucks! Well, if they're gone, they're gone. Sorry to bother you."

We had a mover leave lots of boxes behind once. He was over loaded and not only left some of the boxes behind, but broke apart antique dining chairs, broke decorative trim from a love seat, and damaged the top of a 120 year old dining table, to fit them on the truck. Upon reaching the destination, the furniture was crated and stored for six months, so it was almost impossible to prove where the problem occurred, except that the real estate agent reported the boxes and furniture that were left behind in the garage.

In Massachusetts, if you have a firearm and lose it, by law, a form FA-10 must be filed with the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services Firearms Records Bureau.

If you do so and are found with said firearm, that is an unregistered weapon. One year in jail. Mandatory. Here in MA...there can be no 'boating accidents'.

Something like 99% of the Jews who complied with the Nazi regime’s laws were murdered by those same Nazis.

It is your duty to disobey some laws.

There was a bunch of farmers and small businessmen who disobeyed a king in 1775.

They set an example of when to disobey this king.

In 2004, I KNEW it was coming. Each and every time I saw a good deal on guns, mags, or ammo, I bit the bullet and amassed. Today? I don’t have anything! I sold it all.

Like every other thing I own, I either paid for it or built it myself and I'm not about to have anyone take anything from me.

And even that may be considered unnecessarily benevolent by the current administration. The jackals may be incredibly misguided and/or evil, but they plan very long-term, very thoroughly, and they almost always ensure that they will win something no matter what side of the coin comes up.
