NASA scientists say 2012 was the ninth warmest of any year since 1880, continuing a long-term trend of rising global temperatures. With the exception of 1998, the nine warmest years in the 132-year record all have occurred since 2000, with 2010 and 2005 ranking as the hottest years on record.

Well, it really all depends on where you measure it, how you do the 'averaging', and what 'period' you compare it to.
It’s very easy to invalidate this statement. The comparisons are being made to data (later destroyed by Jones) that was manipulated by Jones, Mann and Hansen. No real scientist would destroy the raw data, withhold the data from other scientists, withhold the model and rules of the experiment and then publish their results and expect any other reputable to accept their results at face value. Not only were the original results manipulated, they have continued to lower the temperatures of the past to make later results seem to be higher. Note that Jones, Mann and Hansen have been challenged to replicate their experiment with the original raw data and provide all of the data and model to other scientists for review but they have continually refused and used every tactic to prevent it. Would other scientists have accepted Einstein’s theories on face values without any documentation and a chance to challenge or test his theories?
The only solution is more money for NASA!!!!!
That is odd, China and Russia are reporting the coldest, and last I heard they were on the same planet as us.
