Saw someone trying to walk their husky just after our last blizzard. She was standing there freezing, while the dog was rolling in the snow with a big, goofy grin on its face!

Beautiful photos! The snow is therapeutic for my Golden who has skin allergies. Rolling in the snow calms them down until spring when the grasses cause him to flare up again. He’s having a hard time this year, however, and has not achieved that ‘calm down’ level.

One of my daughter’s standard poodles experienced snow for the first time. She’s sort of a prissy thing and wasn’t sure what to do at first. Now she loves it, just like her male companion.

We only get snow accumulation here in Louisiana every 15 years or so. Last time, about 3-4 years ago, my poor dogs didn’t know what to make of it.

Except for the border collie I once had, all my dogs have been thrilled with snow.

The BC bounded 2 steps out when the door opened, peed right there on the deck and immediately slunk back in. Dunno why - she was plenty tall enough to handle it. Just didn’t like that weird, powdery stuff under the pads of her feet, I guess.

Off-topic, what is this NAMING winter storms? Do they want to have a way to boost hype as for hurricanes?
