I would not be surprised to learn that most of Whole Foods clientele voted Democrat and love Obama care.

This is extremely interesting coming from the CEO of Whole Foods. In most of the Whole Foods in my area, this market is sort of like a major Democrat/left wing gathering spot. The employees seem rather far left as well. It’s too bad the views of the CEO don’t filter down to the employees and customers of Whole Foods.

The CEO of Whole Foods Market said President Obama’s healthcare law is more like “fascism” >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

McKay is correct, read here:

He pegged it right it is fascism.

When I was in high school and college I took history and political science courses where they would put fascism and communism on the opposite spectrums on a straight line graph.

I just laughed and told them freedom and slavery are opposites, how do you place them within the context of your graph, or maybe right and wrong, how does that fit in your theory.

I was not well liked with a lot of professors.

That’s bold. As bold as anything I have ever heard from a business leader. Given Whole Foods clientele, this is going to be a flammable situation. I may need to stop in to spend some money soon.

I like the way the author calls Mussolini a “right-wing” dictator.

Well, either one is only sustainable with dictators in charge, so the net effect on the populace remains constant.

Many of us have said this for a long time. Maybe the concept will gain traction. As Jonah Golberg pointed out, Progressivism/Liberalism has always been Fascism. Obama has ramped it up, but he hasn't really changed anything.

You know, when Eisenhower made his remark about the "military-industrial complex" he was talking about this. It's not just Defense/Military stuff. When the government allies itself with industry, things go badly. Government should not control commerce. Eisenhower understood this -- it corrupts both government and industry. The CEO of Whole Foods gets it.

"The term "fascism" was first used to describe the right-wing regime of Italian leader Benito Mussolini, and was later applied to the Nazis and the authoritarian leadership of Francisco Franco in Spain.

Fascism & Nazism are LEFTwing systems - different faces of the same coin (communism).

Either leftist bias or the writer is simply a stupid, useful idiot.

Earth to Mackey: Fascism IS a form of socialism. Go find a mirror. That’s you.

The term "fascism" was first used to describe the right-wing regime of Italian leader Benito Mussolini, and was later applied to the Nazis and the authoritarian leadership of Francisco Franco in Spain.

Right-wing? Odd, considering that Mussolini came from the Italian socialist party and was even the editor of their newspaper Avanti! (Forward! hmm, who used the slogan "forward" in the recent campaign?). He split from the socialist party over whether Italy should be neutral in WW I or should attack to reclaim land from Austria-Hungary, not over basic ideology or economics.

This statement shows a complete failure of our education system and conservative discourse. Fascism IS NOT "RIGHT WING", it is LEFT WING. The left side of the political spectrum is complete central government ownership and control through unelected officials. The extreme right side of the spectrum is anarchy - no government laws or control. Fascism is just slightly to the right of communism, but way to the left of a constitutional republic, which is the best form of representative government that recognizes and protects unalienable individual rights. A constitutional republic does not allow "the tyranny of the masses" to exist (i.e. Democracy - being able to vote into existence laws that infringe on the unalienable rights of the minority).

right-wing regime of Italian leader Benito Mussolini

LOL. Mussolini was a socialist through and through. Fascism is just socialism with a little less pixie dust about "equality."

I like John Mackey. He made headlines long before the 2009. piece.

He beat up on the punks at the DOJ who were trying to make themselves a career. He has balls. He’s kind of a conservative tree-hugger.

Here’s a 2007 video I uploaded regarding Mackey:

No surprise here. Mackey is a self confessed libertarian - the antithesis of Socialism/Fascism.
