President Barack Obama will put more "counselors" in school to help thwart gun violence. According to a background briefer provided by the White House, Obama hopes to add an additional 1,000 "school resource officers and counselors."

PUT UP TO 1,000 MORE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS AND COUNSELORS IN SCHOOLS AND HELP SCHOOLS INVEST IN SAFETY: Putting school resource officers and mental health professionals in schools can help prevent school crime and student-on-student violence. School resource officers are specially trained police officers that work in schools. When equipped with proper training and supported by evidence-based school discipline policies, they can deter crime with their presence and advance community policing objectives. Their roles as teachers and counselors enable them to develop trusting relationships with students that can result in threats being detected and crises averted before they occur. School psychologists, social workers, and counselors can help create a safe and nurturing school climate by providing mental health services to students who need help. Not every school will want police officers or additional school counselors, but we should do what we can to help schools get the staff they determine they need to stay safe.

Adam Lanza was 20 years old and "home schooled". All of this "school based counseling" would not have done a thing to stop his actions. Typical Federal program, throw bushels of cash in the general direction of a problem, hire more unionized people, and the original problem remains, untouched.

If they are declared mentally ill or unstable it will get reported to police and they will try and go after your guns.
I think that is the least of your worries. They will go after the parents for neglect, they will go after the kids, and they will go after your guns. The family will be crushed to pieces under the authority of these counselors. Your kids say one wrong thing and the whole family will lose everything.
You might be thinking impossible, never let it happen, but in 6 months you will remember this post and be just shaking your head or hopefully your fist.

I abhor these counseling "experts". They do more damage than letting kids ride things out themselves.

I don’t have to watch the video and what I wrote wasn’t hyperbole. I was being very serious.
When I was first married my in laws were from Germany. My mother-in-law came to the US, when she was smuggled out of Germany at the age of 16, to come here and live with her Aunt. Her mother was able to immigrate after the war. They were a rich family back then before the war. She talked about walking down her homes marble staircase at the time, troops everywhere and bombs falling.
And she talked a little about the Hitler Youth and how her parents thought it best to get her out of the country. Can you even imagine...paying smugglers to get your child out of the country?
My father-in-law was sent here too, but he was old enough to enlist and he went back to fight Hitler.

Which is why it turns my stomach when I hear "We need moar Teechurs!!!"
The only reason they want that is to increase the indoctrination.

American schools have guidance counselors, intervention officers, resource officers, etc. Wise parents tell their children to speak with them as little as possible, the same way they would talk to a policeman questioning them about their behavior or their family. That is, don’t tell them anything.
It is one of the best Documentaries I have ever seen. Period.

I will do you one better, my Father and that side of the family are Jews from Germany. Just before World War 2 most of my Family (including both sides of my Grandparents) fled into Switzerland and stayed there for the remainder of the war.
They settled in West Germany after the war, when they discovered that just about everyone they ever knew, including family who didn't make it out, was Dead.
While my Father wasn't born until 1954 you bet that Running from their homes in Eastern Germany had a profound effect on the way my Grandparents raised him.
My wife has been an elementary school counselor for 15+ years. This isn’t anything new... Most every school in Georgia already has them.
Private schools have counselors too... Nothing new here.
We are seeing the Gestapo of the Mulatto Messiah placed now to make sure you THINK like they want to indoctrinate (and have been for the past 50 years) at ALL levels of edumacation we have now.
NOWHERE do they address the root cause, which is the moral depravity, government-dependence, and "gimme what he's got" mentality we have today because of the breakdown of the Nuclear Family, the un-married parenting of yewts, and fathers who not only are not identified, but are NEVER intending to lead a household nor provide monetary support or moral guidance.
There is NO moral compass amongst the inner-city tribal parasites and, yet, we take the earnings of PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY, and hand it out for Obama Phones, Walkin'-around-money, and Nike Air Jordan's.

The documentary kinda makes you kind of wonder what kind of programming the Nazis performed in the schools which would encourage a child to go after his mother with a dagger.
Soviet mental health “care.” In Britian, they put info on your political correctness (mental health) in your school file.
Gosh, Americans are headed for some serious abuse.
