Immigrant rights group Causa launches campaign for immigration reform

Maria Medina-Soto inhaled deeply, wiped away a falling tear and began telling her story as an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. She explained the difficulty of being away from her siblings for the last 16 years, her fear of driving due to the possibility for deportation and her hope for a better future.

Medina-Soto, 37, of Dayton, was one of four people who spoke Tuesday morning at the Keeping Families Together campaign kickoff sponsored by Causa, the heavily Latino immigrant rights group based in Salem. The campaign focuses on immigration reform and involves individuals, community organizations and elected officials.

During the kickoff event outside the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Northwest Portland, immigrants and their families shared their personal stories illustrating what they saw as a need for change.

"Stop seeing us and immigrants and numbers, but learn our faces and stories," Medina-Soto said, "and know we are the same."

So they want national agenda including pathways to citizenship for all illegal immigrants in the United States, immigration backlogs to reunite families torn apart by deportations, opportunities for safe future migration and respectful border patrol policy and immigration enforcement,all-inclusive driver's license eligibility and in-state tuition for undocumented students. ..Over in New Mexico NM Catholic bishops favor continuation of driver's license law for illegal immigrants..It would tighten the law in hopes of reducing fraud but keep intact the basic framework that enables illegal immigrants with proper identification to obtain driver's licenses. Joining Sheehan in calling for the compromise bill were Bishop Ricardo Ramirez of the Diocese of Las Cruces and Bishop James S. Wall of the Diocese of Gallup. The Legislature in 2003 approved the law allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses. Martinez campaigned on repealing it. http://www.currentargus.com/ci_22385005/nm-catholic-bishops-favor-continuation-drivers-license-law

I lost count how many cases of fraud there has been for getting New Mexico driveres license and how many crooks were busing in illegals with fraudulent documents across America to get New Mexico Drivers Licenses ? Cut down on fraud,more like an increase in fraud.Proper identification as something like the Mexico Consul Card ?

Hey, when an American can legally purchase and own (without a Mexican national co-owner) beach-front property in any part of Mexico we MIGHT start talking!

Until then, we all have sob stories to tell and I really have neither the time nor the need to hear yours!

GO HOME AND FIX YOUR ROTTEN COUNTRY!

No matter who says it — R or D — “Immigration Reform” = Amnesty II.

God bless Reagan and I am sure he weeps in Heaven for what is happening to our Republic but Amnesty I was a BAD idea since it planted the seed for the end-game: 2 million brand-new democrats (I know the number is more like 12 million but 10 million of them voted for Teh Won last November anyway).

What rights? They're not even suppose to be here. They broke our immigration laws. They should be charged rather than catered to.
If an American citizen breaks a law, they stand before a judge!
The only right they have is to go back home before we find them and make them stand in front of a judge for breaking the law like we would.

I don't know who started this "rights" crap. How in the world did we let it get this far? We have to pay their rent, buy their food, clothe them, educate them, and medicate them, and they're not even American citizens. We're paying for welfare benefits for the entire globe!
Why are we supporting people this way in nations we don't even live in? What happened to no taxation without representation?These people don't represent us for anything. Why are we being taxed to support them at all?

This whole immigration debate is crazy. Send them home, give them papers to fill out, and let them come in the right way. America has no problem with this. They're more than welcome when they follow our laws.

Is Mexico our friend or foe? During World War II, Mexico was the site of pro-German activity while US soldiers were being slaughtered by the German war machine and innocent Jews were sent to Germanm death camps. US secret agents found supplies of high test aviation gas hidden by the German high command in Baja California....a Mexican outpost.

===================================================

Mexico and the Third World are pushing north at a furious pace----visions of foreign aid tax dollars dancing in their heads. These are more of their Fifth Column pressure groups acting on orders from their homelands.

The Mexican government adopts one, very smooth, tone when speaking to its patsies in America---vote-crazed US pols---- and another, very militant, tone when speaking to its own people about its ruthlessness in pursuing its own national interest at the expense of ours.

As long as vote-crazed politicans continue to suck-up to hyphenates to get re/elected, this scam will continue.

==============================================

More proof Mexico has NEVER been our friend!

Mexicans sign petition for U.S. gun control

http://www.whptv.com/news/world/story/Mexicans-sign-petition-for-U-S-gun-control/c3oLDyvpy0mJUgXuDEBSyw.cspx?rss=53

================================================

AS TADSLOS INSIGHTFULLY POSTED:

Americans have the foreign government of Mexico (and its co-conspirators in the Third World), that continually and relentlesly meddle in the internal affairs of the US----and BOTH vote-crazed political parties----- and ALL three branches of our government---- enable and actively participate in the process. Mexico, however, would NEVER cede it’s sovereignty to the US - but they sure don’t mind taking our foreign aid dollars. Mexico is a giant leech, sucking us dry.

This is unprecedented---a two-bit foreign govt aiding and abetting in undermining the constitutional freedoms of Americans and subverting the national security of a sovereign govt.

Americans have no govt defending their interersts----but every invader on our shores has TWO govts defending their interests---(1) vote-crazed pols in our govt, and, (2) Mexico (and Third World co-conspirators egging on the rest of the hyphenate invaders).

There's plenty of collusion and conspiracy going on and lots of secrecy. This must be stopped.

The Founders escaped foreign domination and structured the new American govt with safeguards to keep Americans free and safe from foreign domination.

All of the laws and legal measures are there but they are not being employed.

"Keeping Families Together campaign kickoff"

I FULLY support them staying together, back where they came from.

AND, the crap about depositing an Anchor Baby, and calling them a U.S. Citizen was the cornerstone for businesses to access cheap labor, and was bought and paid for with donations to politicans who put their Minions on the USSC.
