Stalin and Hitler would agree with Leon Panetta. Both monsters disarmed their populations before killing large numbers of citizens.

Our founding fathers would disagree with Panetta - but then he probably already knows that - and doesn’t give a sh*t about it...

It’s all so predictable with democrats... they’re thug wannabees resenting the power the people were given...

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives Americans a legal right to own firearms.

The author does not understand the constitution. The second amendment does not give anyone any rights. Rather, it ensures that the government will not take away the God given rights of the individual to posess firearms.

“I mean, who the hell needs armor-piercing bullets except you guys in battle?” …Leon Panetta, braindead moron.

Moron is a charitable understatement. I have yet to read or hear of the NRA or any sports hunter claim that they have a "right" to buy armor-piercing "bullets."
If any such have ever been used in a crime, there is no known case of it being used, or distributed indiscriminately by a law-abiding gunowner.

Before the recent shortages, AP ammunition was easy to come by, sometimes by accident. One of my local ranges advises that if you are shooting military surplus eastern bloc ammunition that you check your ammunition with a magnet before you use it. They take a real dim view of people putting holes in their backstop and if you do you will pay for the repairs and get banned from the range.

In the Founders day the most fearsome "weapon of mass destruction" was the fully appointed battle ship. Ranks of cannon, a powder magazine to feed it, and the crew to serve on it. Hence my mention of the AEGIS cruiser.

These ships were what made Letters of Marque and Reprisal so effective against the Barbary Coast and in 1812. We didn't have much of a Navy, so we hired privateers with their already heavily armed ships to fill the gaps and flesh out the numbers.

It worked.

Now apply this to every other militia endeavor. Be it defending our borders from invasion to privateer companies helping us hunt down pirates and terror cells. It would work.

IF they bothered to use us and IF we had the full expression of our RKBA.

We Americans may have to move to Iraq to enjoy our 2nd Amendment rights:

Not bloody likely.

How surprising, the govt. doesn’t think we should be able to defend ourself agains the government. SItuational ethics, at it’s best.

We KNOW democrats don't care about violent crime and murder BECAUSE they push to get violent criminals OUT OF PRISON as soon as possible.

When violent criminals are released they commit MORE crimes. Liberals know this - we know it.

We KNOW liberals don't care about crime because they're SOFT on Crime and proud of it.

We know liberals don't care because elite liberals stand with trial lawyers against the victims of crime.

We know because liberals lie about crime statistics to protect their PC favorites.

The ONLY reason Democrats want our guns - want the guns of law biding citizens - is to exert control and frighten us.

Hitler and Stalin took the guns of citizens BEFORE committing mass murder of citizens. And yes, it can happen here. We, the citizens of the United States who are NOT Democrats are seen as the enemy. None of us will ever forgive them for that...

“We no longer are a free people. EVERYTHING in our lives is regulated or taxed somehow. The military doesn’t see this? Do they care? Could they save us?”

While I am sure many in the military would defend us, they are also loyal to their command structure so that would be an internal battle each person would have to fight.

Could they save us? Right now I don’t think so as half the country is quite happy letting government run their lives and actually thinks government is there to protect them. Government left that thought decades ago.

We have a ruling elite who spend millions to get elected to jobs which only pay in the low hundreds of thousands yet somehow they seem to accumulate great wealth. Nothing short of a Thomas Jefferson moment is going to break up their strangle hold on power.

“Don’t think I’ve ever tried them on steel though.”

Be careful. I have a quantity of 30-06 AP rounds. Decided to try them out one time. Obtained a piece of 3 inch plate steel. Set it up about 50 yards away and took 4 shots at it. Went up to look at it and found out that the rounds were indeed going in to the steel but 3” is a LOT of steel so they weren’t going through it... They were coming back out headed my direction!

Never found the rounds and didnt hear anything when I was shooting them but quickly learned a valuable lesson...

Almost all discussion from the Ocrazy Marxists has been about NEEDS. Under a Marxist dictatorship I guess that makes sense. What I don't see anywhere in the law is a guarantee of a Marxist rule. I see a guarantee of a republican form, but not Marxist: "From each according to his abilities; to each according to his needs."

Government is reasonably needs based. We citizens try to give the government what it needs to operate. Citizens formed the government. We the People are the Parents, government is the child. PERIOD! Government must be made to understand that concept, or guess what happens? (We all know what happens, don't we?)

Now... what will we do with this unruly child? It's time for the grown-ups to have control again. An effective first step might be to regain control of the voting process, instead of letting the government (child) have control of it.

The head busters will be the Local LE/DHS/TSA folks. Most likely if it goes hot the military will be confined to bases and all weapons locked up in the armories. Leaders will be spirited away. All fictional of course.

“Except you guys in battle” and because you’ve been in battle you have PTSD and are disqualified from owning a weapon after you are discharged. Don’t even think about taking the Police Exam.

An impossible task. “Assault” is defined exclusively by intent. Inanimate objects and animals don’t qualify. Any solid object (and many living critters) can be an assault weapon.
